Carolina Regional Mustang Club Performance Driving School Series provides you, the student, an opportunity to improve your driving skills in your own car with an instructor on board on a real road course. IT IS NOT A RACING SCHOOL. "Racing" will NOT be tolerated. The skills you learn at this school can be applied to situations we all face almost daily on our streets and highways. By learning how to maintain control of your vehicle during unexpected situations, you may someday be able to avoid an accident or injury. SAFETY is our primary goal..

All Makes and Models, not just Mustangs, are Welcome!!!!! We are a Mustang Club, but we want to help improve the skill level of ALL the drivers we see on the roads each day.

There will be a limit of 75 students! Please register early to assure your spot. All applications must be postmarked no later than May 20, 2006.

On the advice of our physician, we do not accept applications from participants who are or may be pregnant.

Persons with a physical impairment, which may interfere with their participation, should contact Tom Hennig before submitting an application.

INSTRUCTION:
All students will receive classroom and in-car instruction throughout the weekend. Your in-car instructor will provide 2-way communication equipment. Classroom attendance is mandatory for everyone.

RUN GROUPS:
All students except for Young Drivers (see below) will be assigned to one of four run groups (A thru D) according to their skill level and vehicle potential and will run the full 14-turn, 2.25-mile road course. Controlled passing will be allowed.

Young Drivers, 16 and 17 years old may participate with parental consent. Consent forms will be available only at the track during the event, and a parent must be at the track with their Young Driver for the duration of the school. All Young Drivers will be assigned to the D Group regardless of prior experience. Young Drivers may be on the track only with their instructors.
All students and instructors must be at least 18 years of age (except our Young Drivers) and possess a valid driver’s license. No learner permits.

REGISTRATION AND TECH INSPECTION:
Registration and tech will be open AT THE TRACK from 7pm to 9pm Friday evening and starting again at 7am on Saturday. Avoid the Saturday morning rush. You’ll be glad you came on Friday evening! Anyone wishing to leave vehicles or car trailers at the track may do so. Gates will close at 10pm.

• All convertibles are subject to inspection no later than two weeks prior to the event. Please contact Tom Hennig at 704-436-6194 or James Ray 704-948-3620 if you have any questions.
• All cars are required to be tech inspected by a qualified service facility PRIOR TO THE EVENT. It is your responsibility to ensure that your car is safe. You will be sent a checklist after you are registered that will help you do this.
• One driver per car is recommended. However, you may share your car with someone in another run group. Each driver must register and pay the entry fee.

OK, time to bring this one back to the top. I'm thinking seriously about driving this event. Is there anyone else interested? $280 for two days is a dang good price!

It sounds pretty good. The only thing is that CMP is so hard on your brakes, that I'd rather do one of their Turn One track days. Most of the time they have them on Fridays. It's $170 for one day, but I understand you get a lot of track time with fewer people.

Hey...I'd do either one. If we have a group going, I'd probably sign up for the Mustang Club event.

They have a beginner's class or is track experience required?

EDIT: Nevermind I just read the application. I might be interested. I'll talk to my good buddy and see if he wants to take his mustang up there if I take my 8. Anyone know if spots are still open?

I just found out my instructor is "Mr. Roar Racing", Rob Whitener III. I think it is safe to say I'm pretty excited.

I shot this pic of him in August 2005 at Road Atlanta driving the #26.

I'm out. Money isnt looking too great right now. The $280 isnt too bad but can't afford replacing tires again anytime soon.
