damn wish I could head up there but my *** is working late tonight But good news.. looks like fedex will hopefully be dropping off my springs today. Im off work tomorrow so I might get them in. Just wish I didnt have to wait til the 28th for the RB exhaust.

I was up there friday night, and saw 2 rx-8 running... to bad their times were 16.5 +/- 0.1

Everyone in the 3000GT (3ksi) club were goofin on them.

 

What color were they?

 

one silver, the other i think a darker grey(?) I turned my head to view times and didnt pay attention to the colors to much..sorry.

 

That was us.. atleast one of our times were 15.5ish though. We had someone spot for us. The first and last times we didnt catch because the guy missed it the first time, and he was in the car the last time.

It was the first time drag racing a manual for both of us, I wasn't too unhappy with how we ran. It was actually my first tiem drag racing at all. I didnt even know what to do.

What do you drive? You should have come over and said hi, we were just hanging out.

Actually, one of our cars were black..

 

I was in a Steel Grey Mazda6 w/ sports package. There was 2 6's up there, same color..but one was an apperance package and then the other, mine. . The other one was driven by younger kid, and kept asking if I wanted to race his 4banger. Funny.


anyways... i know the feeling man.. i ran mine 2 times and was the first time ever even being to a drag strip. My first run i launched to hard and span the hell out the tires, resulting in a 16.47 and then the second time i again span the tires, but not as much resulting in a 16.20

I also drive a MTX as well... but the fun factor reguardless of the timeslip was really high up there. I didnt even mind the semi fast and furious atmosphere there..

 

Yeah, it was lots of fun! Next time you see us there come say Hi..

I saw a couple black 6's no grey ones though.

I had my car hopping like the easter bunny and shot off the line pretty good, but I bounced off the rev limiter going into third and it killed my time. I was told I had a 15.7ish on that.. It sucks not having time slips tho. Next time I'll bring a digital camera and have someone snap a photo.

Some guy in an orange sentra kept wanting to race us!

There was atleast one other 8 there.. maybe green?? but he left as soon as we parked over there next to the 3000gt's that were with that FD

 

The times i saw were mid 16's ...I kinda grined when i saw it because i had just ran the 16.20 and felt better about myself.. hahah. Not saying you didnt run lower, because i only saw you run 1 time.

But yes, I will say hi next time, or if you you go back up there, you can drop me a line and i will meet you guys there.

 

I know both of our cars can do MUCH better, so unless you live at the track, i wouldnt worry about it.. I know a few more times up there I will break 15's (sad i know) and after I get a few parts, i might even hit 14's if i get any better... there are consistant mid 14's being reported (timeslips) from the 6.

 

Yeah, it's harder to get the car to hook up than i thought!..

Have you done any mods to your car yet? I was supposed to get my CZ stage 1 installed by last friday but I didnt get it till yesterday.

What I thought was cool was that everyone ran any kind of car.. there were 20 second + cars out there..

 

hahah, yea... i LOVED the jacked up truck with the two smoke stacks that was running... was the funniest thing i ever saw. I do have a new respect for F150 lightings though... fast trucks. the neons (srt-4) were damn quick too.

I am still bone stock... I have a carputer built and waiting to be installed for a vast array of things (gps, datalog, dvd, etc) which set me back... I did that before i ever thought of racing. I wish i would have gotten an intake and exhaust at least.

The issue with the 6's though... we have no pcm tune, and such a limited amount of aftermarket supprt..its sad.
