Attn North Georgia RX8's need some help!
Hey Gang,
I have only been apart of this forum for less than a year but hopefully I can ask for some help finding a wreckless RX8 driver...
My neighbor-was hit by a drunk driver during the summer of 2004 in July...This drunk was driving a silver Ford Truck F250 4x4...The drunk driver was racing a Silver RX8 on the Hamilton Mill Parkway in the Hamilton Mill Neighbor in Dacula Georgia....The RX8 and the F250 were playing cat and mouse while racing for more than a mile around curves thru an area with kids and people walking and jogging on the sidewalk...Witnesses stated that it was an RX8 and either silver or gray (titanium) based the GCP reports...(Gwinnett County Plice Reports)
The race started at the intersection of Hamilton Mill Parkway and Braselton Highway and ended a block down from the golf course club house...
The RX8 and the drunk driver was headed toward Winder or Lawrenceville or away from I-85...
The drunk hit my neighbor and almost killed him....His wife and kids were injured but not as bad as the Dad who was driving...The driver of the RX8 slowed down and watched the guys SUV catch on fire which was immediately and then instead of pulling over to help-the RX8 driver stomped on the gas and floored it out of there....heading away from the scene...To me and others-this was an act of cowardly behavior...The GCP department would like to have this driver confess and so would I...
As a proud owner of an 8.....with integrity...I am trying to help my neighbor find this person who by now must have confessed to someone...
So local 8 owners of North Georgia....who do you know that owns or owned a Silver or Gray RX8 during the summer of 2004 and WHO LIVES IN THE BUFORD, FLOWERY BRANCH, DACULA, BRASELTON, LAWRENCEVILL AREA....?

If so...contact the Gwinnett County Police Dept and refer to this accident...They are actively looking for this run away driver.....and so am I....

How many posts do you need to make on this topic? The 3 threads you have started in the past week are in addition to the thread or 2 that were here in the past year. Enough already. I am tired of the witch hunt you are sponsoring. In your opinion, every silver or grey RX8 owner is a suspect. I know several. Does that mean someone should turn them in on suspicion of street racing? Terrible about the story but it doesn't put every RX8 owner to the task of accounting for their whereabouts. Now let the police do their job since you state they have strong leads and will make an arrest soon.

To answer your question-How many posts do I need to make on this topic? As many as it takes to catch the RX8 driver who was driving that day....
The last time I checked this is a free country and this forum does not belong to you nor do you own...so your comment of "Enough Already: comes across as irratated due to my plee for help to find a careless coward who obvious owns or was driving a Silver RX8 during that summer of 2004...
I also own a Silver Rx8 and live in HMILL>..and I am not afraid of the truth nor to I become irratated by plees for help...I am simply asking for those of us in this part of North Georgia to combine efforts and help pinpoint this guy....
So my advice to you is to not read this thead if it bothers you and let those of us who want to find that chicken ^&*()% driver who cowardly sped away....
Ifyou have friends in this area that drive a Silver 8 then ask them if they know who that person was or is....Why not spend your energy helping to find this coward rather than right to me telling me that my comments are enough...
I have read comments on this site about a ton of not so important things like times racing at the ATlanta Speedway and driving really fast up the mtns and how cool the RX8 car is....YOu know this is not a priority when it comes to finding some chicken that ran from an accident...What if the victim was you???? I bet your tune would be different...
Your comments to let the Police handle it is like saying they do not need our help......!

Let me make this perfectly clear! I drive a Silver RX8. I have driven in the general area you are discussing. I have seen other RX8s in the area and I have never seen or have I ever participated in any kind of street racing.
If you even begin to accuse me I can assure you that I will have an attorney all over your *** so fast it will make your head spin. Your accusations are the type of “Guilty until proven innocent”. That is a very scary proposition. On occasion I have enjoyed very much driving the back roads and enjoying the ride with my sunroof back and windows down on HWY 124 and now your have made me feel like I’m being watched. That really pisses me off. How can I drive the area now without feeling like I’m a suspect.
I would be the first to report an activity such as street racing. I have a cell phone and I know how to dial 911 and I have used it in the past.

i hate to say it, but if its been a year, and they haven't caught the guy, then they aren't going to. at this point, they aren't even looking into it. the investigation may still be open, but no man power is being put into it.
and asking about a silver or ti grey rx8 is like asking about a silver civic. i have no sales data to back this up because mazda doesn't collect such sales data, but based off of rx8s that i see around, those are the 2 most popular colors.
and you say there can't be more than 10 in the area, i disagree. in fact, i would bet there are many more than 10 in the area. also, ever considered the fact that the car wasn't even from the area?
if you didn't get the license plate number, and there wasn't any damage to the car, then there's no way to even prove that the car was even there. and unless they were specifically going out to cause an accident, then i doubt they were going around bragging to all their friends about it.
sorry that this tradgedy happened to your friend, but unless this guy feels guilty for himself and turns himself in, he will never be caught and convicted.
best thing you can do, is support your friend, and help him recover and move on.
and to cut off any "maybe it was you" type accusations before they begin, i drive a black 04 rx8 which i purchased in march of 2005, and is my first rx8.

Sorry that this happened. It is tragic. I did interpete this entry a little differant than some. I understand the emotions involved in this thread and I can see both sides. I think it is perception. My perception is that the author of this thread was just asking for help in trying to find the responsible person that caused such a tragic event. i think he thought that the clan of the 8's are a tight mature responsible bunch(and he is right, we are) that may have some info he/the police could use. And that was all. It may have happened sometime ago but the closure hasn't occured. He was/is just trying to help. It is true there are not that many 8's around but It may not have even been a local car but someone only driving through, who knows?
Rudy i am really sorry this has happened. That family will be on my church's prayer list (doesnt matter that it happened some monthes ago), I think you are only trying to help and are not accuseing anyone. I know Nabil and Silver-- they are some of the best people you could ever want to know. They are entitled to their opinions but i know that they respect others views also. The problem I have here is that according to Rudy,s post, I fall in this as a direct suspect. I live in Buford, I occasionally travel this area and I drive a Silver RX8. So I will definately be defensive. Any of you would be too. Even you OD. If someone said the accident happend in Macon it was a red RX8 and it happened on a road you occasionaly drive. I'm confident you would feel the need to defend yourself.

4. You were new to the neighborhood

6. There is a $25,000 reward on any information leading to the confirmation.
7. The driver of the truck memorized the tag of the RX8 (OK, so what is it?) If he memorized it then why are we discussing this now? This should be a closed case.

sounds like the curse of the silver's has struck again!! Glad I drive a 135rwhp winning blue? No chance in hell I will ever drag race unless it is against an old lady driving a self propelled shopping cart or one of those little "rascals".

This forum is full of good people. Some know more than I do. I am a trusting soul (to an extent) but If I find that someone misused my trust then forgiveness can be had but I never forget. I hope Rudy is on the up and up. Just trying to help someone. If he is not then he will have to live with that. If he is just trying to use/manipulate us then I hope everyone of the hairs in his armpits turned into fish hooks. The injured family will still be on the church prayer list irreguardless. The people who left the scene are still cowards. Doesnt matter what kind of car they drove.
I guess I have spent too many years in emergency rooms and seen and experienced the suffering that good people go through because of someone else's irresponsibility.
All of us other 8 driver's, There is nothing at all to feel bad about. No one can control other people's perceptions. They will think what they want to think. Just be yourself, be happy, be honest and sooner or later they will realize they where wrong. Remember no one can MAKE you feel anything. It ain't easy.

(1) SilverEight-I appreciate ALL of your posts and comments...but why did you come across so defensive???
You were threatening to sue me so fast it would make my head swim and made comments that you were really "P'd Off" and so and so on....You then wanted to know where I lived and tried to turn the table on me...Whats up with that?
You also made a comment on why I stated I pled the 5th....well if you read this post carefully before you make hasty accusations which I do NOT appreciate one bit....what I stating is that I pled the 5th when the guy who stopped me in my OWN neighbor started asking me about if I knew other people who drove RX8's..............! I DID NOT SAY TO HIM that I am pleeing the 5th however I told the FORUM that I pled the 5th....MEANING that I did not tell this guy-which at that time I did not from ADAM anyones names who also drove an 8....thats all...so SilverEight you owe me an apology as a Gentleman....

So let me RECAP to make sure that anyone who reads this post understands how I came about this topic...SilverEight-you did a nice job recapping earlier but allow me to recap:
*I simply made a comment when a middle aged man stopped me while I was driving on the HMILL parkway...I called him a CRAZY GUY because at that time-that is what he seemed like to me...
*I posted what had happened because I wanted to simply share what had happened....you guys always seem to share things so I did as well...

Rudy, as was posted in the other thread that I moved, this is not the place for bounty hunters or personal vendettas. That is the job of the police, or witnesses to the accident. Please do not post this any more.
