I think it could be pretty cool. I don't really see many rx8s driving around that much. I just got mine last week and so far, I've seen one blue, one black, one red and one silver--the red and the silver both had dealer plates.

Have any of you gotten together already in Knoxville?

Just let me know when most people can meet and I'll try to be there. Sundays work well for me too.

ok as I can see the East Tennessee people are still trying to get together.. so let me help.. anyone interested in getting together let me know.. we can set something up... in addition to that check out www.theclub.digitalinsomnia.cc it was started up in gainesville FL but since I am in TN I have started a TN section... check out the site and post in the TN section and we can get something together...... all the guys and girls in "THE CLUB" are great people, nothing illegal, nothing to get anyone in trouble and certain rules that everyone follows... just check it out and I think you will enjoy it.....

 

OK all you East Tennessee folks who want a get together. We have planned for Sept 10-12 a meet and "Dragon" run along with other activities. There is a thread on this site - search for "Dragon". Also info being compiled at www.mazdanow.com/dragon. You don't have to stay at the lodges to participate. We will have folks from all over the Southeast, so get involved - it's our back yard.

I would be all for gettting a local group of 8's together. I know there is a group of Miata drivers that get together once a month and do diner. Might be fun.

Just a little FYI for those who don' t know. If you come through Knoxville (you Chatt. people for example) you get to make a Dragon run on the way to Robbinsville. It would allow you to make a slow preview run. Just a thought. I sure hope we get a big group together leaving out of K-town.

 

Actually, the quickest way from Chatt-town is head toward Ocoee and take US-74E almost all the way Robbinsville :o Knox-town would have to come down 75 to Cleveland if you took that route

 

C'mon Tennessee!! Let's get EVEYONE to the Tail of the Dragon and meet. When will the opportunity arise again, to meet so many people from so many parts of the country, driving the same type of car as you do. We're going to great lengths to ensure this event is as enjoyable and entertaining as humanly possible.

Well I missed it, but I've been on the Dragon a bunch anyway. What a freakin trip. Just watch out for the Blount Co. Sherriff's dept. by the entrance by Chilhowee lake if you go that way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Lenoir City. Just bought a 2004 Sunlight Sliver from a board member a couple weeks ago.We have always had muscle cars. Sold my 1969 AMX 2 seater a couple years back. Had a Datsun 260 Z car,years ago.Some of you "older" folks may remember when Lindsey Ward Stereo in Knoxville had their killer watt '55 Chevy. I sold them that car. We also have a '68 Camaro w/ a 871 blower, Enderle Birdcatcher-alcohol injection, tubbed,etc... Met my hubby street racing. I had one of the fastest muscle cars in this area. He's the first person to beat me. So I married him.
