Hey im looking to see to guys with some really advanced rx's and maybe get some ideas on where to go for mine....i am about 2 months in to my rx8 and i love it so far but im curious as to how mine drives compared to others....on this site we keep hearing of problem after problem and power differentials due to ages of the engines, which flashes you have had and misfires. i would like to see some loaded 8s and how they drive maybe as a passenger and have some of the more experianced guys take a ride in mine to make sure everything is copasetic. so far i have done a bunch a little stuff exteriorally, and sirius inside ...as far as performance wise i have only done the intake....i added the revi with ram air. also id like to see what some people have done as far as sound systems....cause every store ive talked to said im out of luck causr theres no dash kit. so basically i want to know if theres any upcoming meeting in the southern NC area.....if not any guys wanna plan someplace to meet up on weekend for a few hours??? im located in wilmington NC so parts of south carolina w3ould be welcome too. drop a post if your interested.

 

Glad to hear from you. The RRDI group has a drive planned to come down from Raleigh to the Brits and Battleship Car Show in Wilmington on November 5. I don't know who will be coming down yet but we do have some 8 owners that like road trips, we have some people that have moded their 8s and several more that are talking and investigating options as well. I'll see if I can't encourage one or two that have done some mods to make the trip if they can get that Saturday free. The Raleigh Rotary Drive-In is not so much a club as a gathering of rotary powered owners who like their cars, love driving them and enjoy the company of others. We'll see you on the 5th if not before.

Hey guys, just heard from Dave Sorensen of the British Motor Car Club of the Cape Fear on the Car Show in Wilmington, he welcomes us down for the show. He has invited any that want to enter the show to let them know and if they get enough rotary entries might get a special classification for our cars. Their website is http://www.bmccf.org/ with links for the car show info and other interesting info about their club. I know we have several 8 owners with show quality cars, Johny should bring Tiffany down, Greg should get the TII shined up, Keith should bring your vert along, Josh could show your FD, and we have several FBs that would do well representing the first gens.

The guy sounded really glad to have another sports car enthusiasts' group to join the fun. It will be at the USS North Carolina Memorial parking lot and he said they have muscle cars, other sports cars in the show as well as British cars. Sounds like a great time and some interesting cars to look at.

We can do this as the November weekend drive, we'll drive back that evening or anyone that wants to stay overnight can do that in Wilmington or go on out to Morehead City and stay on the beach.

ok so where is this car show....its funny i live here and i know nothing about it....is it by the battleships or somethin???? and its this saturdays the 5th from when to when? what times?? well ill be there saturday to see whats up.

 

I'm from Holden Beach NC hate I missed the thread I would have come. I go to school at NC State theres a 8 club in Raleigh?

RRDI: we meet every 2nd and 4th saturday of the month and periodically do some other things. Coming up next weekend is our 2nd meet of the month and then two weeks after that is a trip to VIR for holiday laps around the track. Since its winter time now attendance is kind of light, but the more the merrier
