Actually, I live in Vidalia (50 miles SE of you), but I show up in Statesboro once in a while to visit my son. I'm in an '06 velocity red, totally stock. What do you drive?

Good luck finding the other Statesboro folks. Not many RX-8 owners from out here in the stix participate in these forums. The GARX site is another possibility, but they tend to be a little ATL-centric.

However, there are a few interesting events in the area from time to tome. They are having a track event at Robling Road this month (or has it already happened?), and there will be otheres every 6 months or so. I haven't been able to attend for one reason or another, but they sound like much fun for all. Check them out!

the only other person I know that's a rx fan is my roomie (who drives a 93 RX 7).

I know he would be interested in goin to these events too...

Try searching in this SE forum for posts from DarkSideDE (DarkSide does one of the local Roebling events). Also, look for "Southeastern Track Days" or similar posts. There are a bunch of track time enthusiasts who frequent this site. They get together from time to time all over GA (and sometimes into Eastern AL) for various track events.

You can also go right to the Roebling site (RoeblingRoad.com), which lists all the events they have there.

If you are willing to drive a little, there seems to be a lot of activity around Jacksonville these days (see the various posts). Like Atlanta, they seem to have quite a few RX fans within an easy drive of us.

Good luck finding events and enthusiasts down there. I know in Macon I only saw three 8s other than mine.

Yes, the Dark Side's November event - happened. Boy did it ever. We had one of the largest RX-8 groups at one location - ever. It was wonderful.

Please mark you calendars for next year -- May 1-2 an Nov 6-7 -- those are our dates at Roebling. BTW - 40 folks are already signed up for our May event - they've placed their name on www.clubregistration.net to reserve their number. (Payment not expected until Feb 1.)

Thanks for the nice words d_of_e -- maybe you'll come by to visit... do the event - or have a Taste of the Track. Folks that like the track and play well with others are always welcome....

i live in North Macon and never see any 8's especially with aftermarket mods. I drive a 2005 blue 8; staggered 19s; lowered on coilovers, apperance package, underdrive pullies

had my 8 since august ish, and i drive all the time but dont drive with others cuz the others down here are snobby *** rich kids in school... would like to have a friend or two to drift it with, but dont. and i know some real good places.

Leer, you've probably seen me in Macon. I drive an 04 WB and think I would normally see you near the Manchester at Wesleyan apartments. I have since moved back to NE Ga, but visit my girlfriend in macon from time to time.
