Well this is my first topic, I was a previous owner of a 2000 Mercury Cougar and a member of a very active club just like this one. That car was totaled due to a lady running a red light, and now I have my 8 (makes the accident well worth it) So I would like to meet some other people from Florida or surrounding area.

I will also be in Tampa this weekend, so if anyone down there is up for anything let me know.

 

I'm over in Tallahassee. I may be ordering an 8 next month for a July delivery. I'm just trying to find a no BS dealer that's reasonbly close by.

Another Jacksonville RX-8 owner here. Bought at Tom Bush's Mazda on Atlantic Blvd. Awesome dealership, great service.

As per the majority, the RX8 is a GREAT vehicle. The MPG could be a little better and there could a larger compartment to store my sunglasses and garage-door opener, but it's a sweet ride and I'll adjust. I put some graphics on mine to make it easier to find in a crowded Wal Mart parking lot (not that it will ever be parked at one).

Spoke with a rotary mechanic who told me that while the engine is breaking in, do not use synthetic oil. He said you WANTED the engine to "score" and break in right. After that, he recommended synthetic, but all the way....no mixing the two. I'm no mech, so I'll follow his advice.

I was ½ inch away from buying a 350Z, but during some last minute research, discovered the owners were experiencing some problems with tire life, road noise and transmission "stiffness." Held off on the 350Z and drove an RX8 by chance....end of story. Thank my stars every day I waited for the RX8.

Jacksonville owner here as well. I also purchased at Tom Bush, and agree, it is an excellent dealership. I have a Nordic Green 8 and love it!

 

I'm the sunlight silver GT with strakes, rear wing and HKS exhaust. I've seen the Nordic Green around town. Saw a winning blue yesterday on Southside with the appearance package. I have the R-Magic lip spoiler on order. Just want to look different from the rest in town.

I haven't seen too many RX8's around, but I'll either flash my lights, honk my horn or tip my hat as we pass. When we get enough drivers, we should all group up and maybe meet at the beach for some tea and crumpets.

I have to work this weekend, so that is out for me, but would like to get together sometime. The BBQ sounds good, just need some details? I am getting the appearance pkg put on this weekend along with putting on the strakes and some other stuff. I am in the hunt for a spoiler but havent decided on anything yet.

Yep, can't wait to see both of them parked outside of the complex, guess we are going to occupy four parking spots now......

As I am sure many of you do, I take two spots so that no one parks next to the brand new 8......!!!

 

Okay, Jacksonville drivers!! I know I've seen more RX-8s in town. Talked with a driver of Black 8 at a stop light in Orange Park!
