Hi all,

I spent a beautiful day on the Blue Ridge Parkway and thought it would be a great place to meet other 8 owners. Anyone nearby interested in a drive to Mount Mitchell? Or Craggy Gardens? I put my 8 in cruise control and I felt like I was driving on a go-cart track. It was fun and my gas mileage was nearly 30MPG! Guess the 8 likes a slow, steady speed. I liked that no brakes were needed as long as no slowpokes got in my way.

I'm not sure about 8 owners, but if you want some general mazda enthusiasts, check out mazda6club.com. I know a couple of 6-guys who are active in the asheville area. Join up over there and shoot them a PM. They've started a couple activity threads in the SE regional thread.

 

Thanks for the lead nashirak- I'll watch the site. Not sure how they'll react to an 8 invading their turf, but it could be fun.

Hey Tom, whats up? Im in the Asheville area and just got an rx-8 about a week ago. So far I cant stop driving it so it would be awesome to cruise with ya.

I'll be making a trip to the area, staying at Maggie's Valley, week of 6/4 - 6/11. Not sure at this point if I'll be driving the Miata or RX-8, though I'm leaning towards the Miata (mostly since I have the 8 for sale). Anyone interested in meeting for any drives just PM me.

 

I'll be in Sylva 6/10 and 6/11. Dunno if my better half will let me go play on the roads all day, though. But if someone organizes something that weekend, lemme know.

 

hey there all my name is jared and im in the asheville area in live spruce pine its about 40 mins away i dont live to far mount mitchell at all i bought a black 8 about an month ago and i love it i cant wait to start putting mods on...i also join wncrides.com which is a pretty nice site about imports some of u guys should check that out
