The point of remanufacturing is replacing ALL wearable parts. So no not new but definitely as good as new. The parts that "the miles have gone through" aren't affected by the mileage that the engine was driven for.

 

Guess what I notice: my gas mileage has improved dramaticly since the new engine was replaced in my 04 RX8!! It may be a keeper but the wife saids its got to go and hello a mini van. Not happy about that. Lets get it sold. $16.5k OBO

 

Miles on car now about 850 on new engine.

 

PR, a few things that would help your cause...

Do a proper ad, good pictures, pics that are big, pics that show any damage.

Mileage, options, condition, mileage on rebuilt engine etc.

Be more serious about selling the car and you'll sell it! The price is insane!

i cant believe what the resale value dropped to .. but now i can truly recommend this car to anyone that doesnt have one ... fuvk for that price show me anything that comes close

yeah dude proper add would help.. higher price too .. honestly my first impression with this price is this thing has been through something crazy

This is a base model car with some kinda front chin.
Sorry but no, way too much cost for a base car.

 

cajun... do you know what a 6mt rx8 goes for? generally around 18k with 36k miles. this has a new engine with under 1k miles and a 12k warrantee and a body mod from veilside. 16 should have sold this.... just hasnt i was looking at it but i just cant do it considering i need more than 12k on the warrantee. i need more like 30 or even 25 minimum.

 

i hate for this thread to now be about how much this is or isn't worth rather than letting the guy sell his car but had to jump in here. unless you're buying from a dealer, $18K is on the higher end for a car with 36K miles - try closer to $17K (and probably under that since it is a base model). now that this is out of warranty with the exception of the engine, it's priced about right or a little high but certainly not something that can't be passed up.

that all being said, if someone is looking to get an 8 on the cheap and is willing to chance things and knows enough about fixing an 8, this would probably be a good deal. just not for the average joe who might run into problems at almost 70K miles and have to go to a dealership or shop to get things fixed.

 

This looks like a fair deal for the right buyer.
