For Sale: *2004 Ti Gray RX-8 GT A/T Show Car* Located in PA!

I am selling my 2004 Titanium Gray Mazda RX-8 A/T with Grand Touring Package. This car has every option except Navigation. The car currently has 18,920 miles on the odometer. I am the second adult owner of the car which was purchased last year with 16,586 miles. The car has had all recalls performed and runs GREAT! This RX-8 is in BRAND NEW condition as I rarely ever drive it. The car has never seen snow or rain and is garage kept at my home. I have never had passengers in the back seats and rarely ever in the front! I clean the car everytime I drive it and it stays fully detailed with Megauirs products. The only flaws on the car are a small scratch by the left rear wheel well and a few very minor stone chips on the front. The car is only driven on short trips around town or to car shows. I am lucky to drive it once a week. I purchased the car stock and it was professionally built into a real head turner! Please note: the motor of this car is fully stock. I didn't buy this car for speed or power so I decided money for intakes, exhausts, and other performance parts would have been spent better on other items for the car. Here is a list of what I have done to the car since purchasing it:

Drop- Tein S Tech Springs with custom performance alignment

Wheels- Axis Hiro 19" Staggered (8.5 front and 9.5 rear) in Hyper Silver (Offset: front 45mm/ rear: 55mm).

Tires- Hankook Ventus K104 (front: 235/35/19 rear: 265/30/19) The tires have only a few hundred miles on them.

Lugs: McGard "Tuner" Spline Drive Lugs.

Body Kit: Mazda appearance package with spoiler and front splash guards/ Rotary Accents.

Lighting: JDM Clear Markers, Stealth Bulbs for turn signals, PIAA white LED's for parking lights, OEM HID for low beams, Lumincs JDM yellow bulbs with LaminX yellow film for fogs, Super white LED license plate light, Super white LED interior lighting with Streetglow blue neon tubes installed in driver and passenger footwells.

Brakes: Painted calipers red with Polak "RX-8" decals, painted inside rotors and hubs silver. DupliColor Ceramic Caliper paint was used on all parts.

Stereo: OEM Bose setup with Mazda Ipod adapter, 2 Rockford Fosgate 10" subs, Rockford Fosgate 400w Amplifier, Rockford Fosgate 1/2 Farad Digital Capcitor, David Navone LOC, Streetwires power, distribution, and signal wire. My box was constructed by ZEnclosures. System was built into car using a false floor with an Acrylic window to view amp. System is highlighted at night with 3 blue Streetglow neon tubes.

Tint: 20% all the way around including the moon roof and the top half of windshield. Mazda Gloss Black Pillar Applique to gloss out the sides to match windows.

The car is basically a show car as I spend more time cleaning it then driving it! I did spend this summer showing the car at various car shows. The car has consistently won first place in the Tuner/Import classes. Alot of hours and money were spent on this car but I am looking to build a house next spring and no longer have the time for the 8 =( The car is located in Johnstown, PA which is 60 miles east of Pittsburgh. I am asking $19,900 which I think is a very fair price considering the mileage, condition, and aftermarket parts. Please email me at: brett3779@hotmail.com if interested.

i hate to break the bad news but $20K for a 4-port '04 AT? if you want anyone to look at it you may want to reconsider the asking price.

The price may be higher than some of the other 8's on here but I can assure you that this is one of the cleanest you will find and it has considerably low mileage for it's year. I also dropped almost $5,000 into the car this year alone just in extras. The price is somewhat negotiable but I think this is a good buy for a great looking car that has been done right.

i just don't want you to be disappointed with the lack of bites at your price. mods are never an investment so you won't recoup that when you sell. and a 4-port is still a 4-port so it doesn't matter that you have low miles. i won't post on here how much it should be going for but g/l with the sale and PM me if you really want to know how much i think you can get.

Well, the more I look at the pics, the car is dead sexy (rubs nipple) and just because it's a Auto doesn't mean it won't sell. I have driven both types and didn't feel any difference in power. You just have to find someone that wants that car.

PM me and I'll tell you what you can get for the car. That is a ridiculous statment. How can you determine that, I would like to know how you know that?

by looking around and seeing what they are going for. how do you know how much to sell any car for? you look around, research, and price it appropriately. pricing too high and people move onto the next one b/c they want to offer much less. you start at the right price and negotiating can go from there. but if you have a better suggestion let's hear it. and my guess is that if you think they feel the same you've either been in a 6-port or haven't driven an 8.

I have driven two RX-8's each one with a different tranny. I didn't feel any difference. Pretty simple point. I guess you must have been there with me without me knowing to know what car(s) I have driven in my past. I think I know what a RX-8 is. I remember very clearly becuase I was disappointed in the power. Clearly the car was built for the corners and not for straight lines.

I'm sure the owner knows what the market is on the car. I doubt he's a tool shed and didn't bother looking at the prices. I'm just simply stating he doesn't need someone to tell him what the car is worth. If he priced it at that, it was for a reason. I did say it was a lil high but that was before looking at the pics closely and re-reading his statments.

It simply comes down to finding someone that wants that car and what the owner has done to it.

Thumbs up

Very nice car. I guess yours puts mine in second place in Johnstown!

I definitely would have considered yours before purchasing mine in June. I was actually looking for an AT so that my wife could drive it too.

Maybe I could talk my wife into getting rid of her 2004 Civic EX sedan and replacing it with your 8. I doubt it- she's in love with what she calls her "Mercedes"! I don't even try to understand.

Not to hijack your thread, but a few questions if you don't mind...

How do the subs sound? I went crazy the past month or so and bought a pile of stereo upgrades: Mazda MP3 CD player, Zenclosure 2x12" enclosure, Alpine Type R subs, 6.5" components for doors, 6x9's for rear deck, Alpine PDX-1.1000 for subs, PDX-4.150 for doors and deck, RF 3Sixty.2 processor, 1/0 power kit, Mazda cargo organizer tray to house the amps and processor. I'll probably install it over the winter.

Where did you have your window tinting done, or did you do it yourself? How do you like the 20%? Would you do it the same again? I want to have mine tinted. Any concerns of getting pulled over?

What color is your leather interior?

I paid $18K for mine, with about 16K miles on it, and it's a Touring model, not Grand Touring like yours. So your pricing isn't bad, considering all of the extras.

Best of luck. Just curious... why are you selling?

Another guy from Johnstown?...I never see any j-towners on this board! The subs sounds great in the ZEnclosure box.....the box volume is almost dead on for the RF subs. As for the tint there is a guy in town who does tint on the side. He is amazing as he has been tinting for 20 years. I have had all my vehicles done in 20% by him and will never do anything but 20. PM me if you want his information. I am selling the car because I would like to build a home next year but lately I kinda have my eye on trying to pick up a used Honda S2000 to play with over winter. If I can't sell the car as is I may opt to part some things out. If I do....I was going to sell the rims and tires for $1000 with an OEM Wheel/Tire exchange. Since your in town would you be interested? The new wheels and tires have only a few hundered miles on them. I would also part the stereo out so if you want my amp cover it would fit perfectly with your ZEnclosure box. Well...maybe I'll see you around sometime.

Wireboy: why don't you just buy this one and give your wife yours and get rid of the civic.

Then everyone's happy!

Here's the breakdown on how I did it for the low cost:

Set of new Axis Hiros bought off Ebay $700
Sold my OEM Wheels for $550

*My cost for new wheels $150

Set of new Hankook Ventus K104 purchased form East Coast Tires $600
Sold my OEM tires for $250

*My cost for new tires $350

*Full Appearance Package w/ front splash guards brand new (pieced together off Ebay) $500

*Rockford Fosgate audio system brand new (pieced together off Ebay) $350
Sold a huge lot of car audio equipment for a friend and got paid $450

*Tein S Tech Springs $100

*Koni Shocks $300 off Ebay

*Greddy Exhaust off Ebay $350

*New lighting with corners, fogs, stealth bulbs, and LEDS $150

Sold every part that was taken off the car or not used $350

All labor was done by myself $0

*Various parts (lugs, caliper paint, materials, etc.) to complete job $150

So...all and all I did it for $1750.....$1500 was what I rounded it to but it came out pretty close. Basically.....buy everything as cheap as you can find it and sale everything that your taking off or not using. This forum and Ebay should be your best friends. I did this over winter and spent countless hours on Ebay shopping for the best deals on parts and selling what I didn't need. And when it times come to sale the car....I hopefully won't take too big of a loss

-This was quoted from one of your threads, but your last sentence sums it up.
Good Luck with the sale.

So what is your point? I got a great deal on $5k worth of brand new items. Am I getting that back out of the car? No. I already lowered the price to what is beyond fair. I spent months shopping around to get those deals and many hours putting it all on. I was already offered $17500 for the car stock so I don't think I'm ripping anyone off. At this point....I'm probally just going to take everything and trade it in.
