Rx-8 for around 9k cash?
:icon5: I am wanting to know if i will have any chance to get an rx8 for 9k cash in about 4 months after i get my taxes back..because i am about to be 16 and ive been saving my paychecks and waiting for my tax return to have around 9k... :dunno:
it would be a nice down payment.
Otherwise even the oldest model year still goes for 14-18k range. |
Maybe one with a salvage title??
ya i thought bout the salvage title idea but i dont know of anyone or anyplace that is selling one.
it would be a great down payment, maybe you could work out a payment plan with your parents? 150 bucks a month for 3 years will get you 5400 bucks (interest free), with 14,400 you'd be in a much more realistic situation.
good luck either way |

very true, i put 15,000 down on mine. monthly payments are 370 on a 5 year loan for a 2005 6spd GT with appearence pkg, rear spoiler
^With interest, it's easy.

You need a new loan. |
No way, but you can get a beat 95 M3 for that price.
i just bought a 2004 6spd black rx8 with nav, 52k miles in really good conditon for 14.4k out the door i ended up at 16.2k with taxes and dealer fees, dont know what my payment is going to be yet, but like everyone says you will have a great down payment. btw i put 8k down. good luck finding one maybe you will just have to wait a little while
im selling my 04 for 13,500 with 51,000 miles i dont think you will get a better deal than that, the trade in value is like 13,400. but ya put 9k on a 14k loan for 5 years and your payments would be like 80 a month.
i doubt they would be that low but you a def looking at less then 200
save it man. i had about 6 grand back then, and by the time I made the move to get a used one, I was able to put 16k down for it, and my parents put down the rest (which i am almost done paying them back for). don't screw yourself financially at 16, it just doesn't make sense.
im 17 now and i bought my rx8 for 16,995 with 4k down. my payments are 225 a month and with my job its not problem afford it and my insurance. but do the math 5k loan over 5 years its going to be right around 100 a month if you get a good interest rate
ya I'm prolly jus gunna save up n put it all down on a loan then jus pay more every month then the payment is to pay it off quicker
you really do not want to pay of loans a 16 or 17 or 18 or 19... 9,000 can get you a decent early 90's sports car.
i did use to like 3000gt's but i think an rx8 with veilside wide body kit, carbon fiber, turbo n some otha stuffz would look an perform alot better.. so ima jus have to keep savin up, shuldnt be hard seeing how im only 15 but im makin 1100 a payday :) ima beast.

i forsee a rx-8 with a veilside kit that its poorly fitted and painted, a huge retarded CF wing, a Greddy turbo and a blown engine soon after.(not from the greddy but from the owner). good luck you BEAST!!!!! |
P.S.: Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hah
Save the money, don't blow it on a car yet.
lol
wow n rider u must have taken hours to come up with that paragraph. and if you would know anything about the 8 then you would no there is no actual wide body kit made for it, its called "Custom" by fiberglass spacing the kit out a few inches which would just be for looks anyways...also ya ur right the engine would ge blown from me drivin even tho i culd garuntee u im a better driver then u and im only 16... also the main point of this thread was to see if anyone was selling a salvage rx8 or anything for 9k not for reatarded lil dudez like u to come talk about sh!t they dont know anything about. :bootyshak
you're only 16 with no driving experience. Don't waste your money yet. Buy a clunker for now. Keep saving that money and buy yourself the latest rx8 a few year from now. It will be well worth the wait.

unfortunately.....no I saw a salvaged Rx-8 04 MT around my area the day I got back, and that one sold for 12k, there are some wreaked ones(which is probably moddable, repairable) for around 8-9k around LA, but u still gotta put in more cash in order for it to run..........
Keep saving while investing that money! By the time you have real experience driving ( like when you are in your mid to late 20's) You will have plenty of money to buy what you want. The RX8 is also a very high maintenance which costs a good bit of money along with insurance for a new driver. That is no dig on your driving abilities. I'm sure you are a good driver, however there is a lack of experience on our beloved roads.
But this is all for naught because you are young and you only have a couple things on your mind (CARS AND GIRLS) and you think the car is gonna get you the girls:naughty: Good luck!! |
I think he is a homo.

Get yourself an RX-7. You wanna play with us RX-8 boys with $9000? Sorry, not a chance. Gas bills, oil bills, maintenance, and loans will kill you faster than buying the car will.
Go learn about wrenching and most importantly rotary maintenance. Our cars are fickle cars, and you don't want to blow an apex seal because you had no idea about rotaries and everyone around you think it has a 4 banger. |

i would just look for a really nice eclipse gst or 300zx or something of that nature,... its nice when you dont have monthly car payments......and you never know when your next dream car will come out so you wont be stuck in a loan

coming from a knowledgeable person with plenty of RX7 experience (87' (series 4 FC) GXL, 89 TurboII (series 5 FC), 1994 (FD) Touring) I can tell you that a 3rd gen will be just fine for 100-120K before it needs a rebuild, which can run from $700-$1500 if kept stock (great time for a port/polish and 3mm apex seals though!). Keep in mind its a rotary thing, this RX8 isnt any different, besides side ports instead of peripheral its still a good ol' wankel. its going to need a rebuild @ 120k, thats life. 100K is when you should do a compression check, if compression is low- rebuild, if compression is nominal- push that 13b to the limit and check again in 20k! the stock turbos are good for 110-160K. I drove my FD into a guardrail @ the track and sold it for parts sadly.. but it still ran :) these values are assuming that you maintain it well- especially w/ oil changes and keepin' that coolant clean. you can still beat the crap out of the engine whenever you see fit (to an extent of course) i.e. revving to the buzzer, in fact its good for it to be ran high now and then! the secondary injectors open @ 4K-RPM. thats if you were to go FD, now if you were to go FC its a whole different story- get ready for a car that you can massacre daily and have it begging for more, ESPECIALLY the N/A FC's. my GXL hasnt had an engine problem in the 30k ive been driving it. closest to an engine problem was the water pump seal, $50 and an hours wrenchwork. my TII, only problems were the clutch rebuild @ 80K and i burned the second gear synchros. the tranny is known for sensitive somewhat synchros, but the TII tranny is one of the best trannys Mazda's ever built. any Miata owner dreams of swapping a TII tranny into their car. the TII LSD is also quite amazing if i may say so myself. sold my TII last year. still have my GXL, runs like a champ. in the midst of buying an RX8 very soon. |
i bought a 04 with 25,000 miles on it for $17gs out the door.. with a $8,000 down and payments were still $349 per month
