I have decded I want a cheaper car payment, so...... I am selling my 2005 RX8 It is Whitewater Pearl with black leather interior. It currently has 42K miles on it and is in great condition. There is maybe 2-3 tiny rock chips from daily driving. I am pretty particular about my cars so I want to let you know that the car didn't just pull off the showroom floor by any means but it is much closer than many other cars with 43K on the clock. Previous owner was RX8guy86 on this forum.

check out the rules. you don't need to bump the same day as the original post. and btw, it's a tough time to be selling an 8 (RWD sports car in winter) much less a firm price of $22.5K for an '05 w/ high mileage.

As for the mods not adding value, that is not 100% true... you can say they don't but in all actuality they help. The car is worth what someone will pay for it. If they like the way it looks with the mods as opposed to one without then it is worth it for them. If mods don't add value then why have I seen car with turbo upgrades and body kits sell for $4K up to $10K more than their value??? I don't see you telling the guy here on the forum that has the turbo charged RX8 with the body kit asking $30,000 that his mods don't add value to his car.

Anywho no need to argue the price isn't set in stone firm. I am open to offers, I just owe more than that on the car but who knows if the right price comes along then I may take it, but the cars value on KBB.com which people can say all they want that Kelly book isn't a correct price either, but it states that suggested retail on my car is $23,500 with the mileage and options I have on it. Private party on the vehicle was $21,375. So $22,500 with what it has on it is a fair price whether you can sell yours for less or other may that is their deal. I find the more I deal with forums and sales the more people try to bash anything for sale. I could put the price at $10K and people would still say it wasn't a right price. Also, last I checked 40K miles wasn't high mileage at all on any car. It is still under the factory powertrain warranty. Anywho, for the bumps... sorry won;t let it happen again.

Second... as per most forum rules... if you do not have anything positive to say about the sale of someones item or do not agree with the price do not comment or try to deface the value they have set on that item.

Thanks anyways maybe I should just put my car for sale in the yard and say forget letting an enthusiast own it... It is just a car.

Yep, you get that on any type of forum, regardless of what you are selling. Enthusiasts really know the car intimately and know what it's worth and what it's going for.. so you'll get those sort of responses and offers.

But if you set it at 10k, I'll buy it ;-).

no need to get defensive, i said nothing to bash your car. i said high mileage because it has just about reached the end of its warranty period for bumper to bumper and is therefore considered high. put your selling price wherever you want it but i was just trying to help by saying it will be hard to do there. also try autotrader and/or cars.com since you will find that users there will have seen fewer 8s and will have less knowledge about how much they really go for.

Here is the deal. On top of the new price I also offer reassurance of not getting hassled or dooped in an internet purchase. This car will be purchased as a courtesy cash vehicle. My friend works at Harper Volkswagen in Knoxville, TN. Basically this means that you will be purchasing the vehicle from them and they are acting like that it was a trade in for me. So all paper work, including the bill of sale and everything will be included with the vehicle. Also you will have a direct contact address for a business instead of my personal number after the deal has been made. Checks will be made to Harper Volkswagen and all. This is just to reassure you that you will get the vehicle.

Yeah I figured if I went under the KBB price someone would at least realize they are gettin a good deal... I mean the private party value of this car in good condition is $18,985... so although it isnt much under the price it is under with mods.. someone has to give this car a good home

Dab you a lil super glue on the strake when you straighten it up next time. It will never move again. Do you have the car in Autotrader?

rediculous!!! not even a single interest... i have seen the same car posted for more than what I am asking now and they are gettin at least a little interest but none for mine... kinda sad
