This is it, I'm selling my baby. I am moving cross-country for grad school and I have to let her go to pay it.

Location is Kennewick, Washington.

I went to take pictures and kinda got carried away. Enjoy:

The back story:
After selling my 300zx, I did some serious research before deciding on my next car. Did my homework, decided on an RX-8, and went to talk to a good friend that owns a dealership. I gave him my list of options I wanted, and told him to take his time finding just the right one. Three days later he called me from an auction in Spokane and said he had my car. The auction inspectors had rated it a 5/5, which he said is extremely rare. Sure enough, the car was mint. It's been my weekend cruiser ever since. I am the second owner, with a clean CarFax report in hand. I have put on 11k miles in the two years I have owned her. I am a car nut and a rotary enthusiast, and she has been lovingly maintained. I did all the preventative maintenance stuff I could find on the board, from MAF cleanings to BHR coils to fixing the slanted center console button. Never shut off cold, always spin her up before turning her off, and always let her warm up before driving. She also saw about half a dozen local autocross events, did very well, and got tons of compliments. The only issue I ever had was some misfiring and rough idle, which was solved by an overdue spark plug change. I did BHR coils and wires at the same time.

I don't want to sell her, but the wife says she has to go to pay for my grad school.

A real estate agent just came and test drove her and says she's going to make an offer. She wants to use the car to drive her clients around. I'd much rather see her go to an enthusiast, someone who will run her up to redline and have some fun.

The details:
- 2005 Mazda RX-8 Grand Touring Package
- Asking $13,900
- 1.3L 247hp rotary engine
- 6spd manual transmission
- 58,000 miles
- All options except navigation
- Two tone red/black leather interior
- Mazda factory appearance package includes front air dam, side skirts, rear aero flares, and spoiler
- Additional Mazda trim: Rotary accents (the silver triangles front and rear) and front mud guards
- Sliding/tilting sun roof with Mazda air deflector installed
- Traction control and DSP Stability Control
- Bose premium sound package with in-dash 6 disc changer
- Interior in excellent condition. One of the built-in garage door buttons on the rearview mirror looks a bit well-used (see pics). Other than that, it's pristine.
- Upgraded BHR ignition coils and wires at 50,000 miles (OEMs were due for replacement)
- K&N drop-in filter
- Recent oil and spark plugs
- Wheels in good condition, a couple with some curbing (see pics)
- Always adult driven and always garaged
- This was my weekend cruiser, NOT my daily driver
- I installed a stereo auxiliary input just left of the steering wheel (see pics). I currently have a bluetooth voice/audio adapter plugged in that I use for playing music and taking calls. If you want it, it will come with the car. The bluetooth device sometimes crackles if you bump it. The aux input does not; it's the cheap bluetooth device.
- Body and paint are in excellent condition, with the occasional minor rock chips to be expected for the mileage
- I have a Jensen tube sub and Pioneer 200w amp installed in the trunk. I had these in the garage from a previous car, so I installed them on a whim one weekend. They give a bit more bass punch. They will go along with the car.
- I have an second set of RX-8 OEM factory wheels with Hankook i*cept studless snow tires. The tires were bought and mounted last fall at Big O Tires and were only used for ~2 months of occasional driving. They are essentially brand new. Combined with the stability control, these make the car surprisingly great in the snow. The set will go with the car for the right offer (ie asking price). Otherwise, the wife gets them for her Mazda6.
- I can provide the CarFax report from when I purchased the car. The original owner was in the Spokane area. I am the second owner.
- According to the report, the car was involved in a rear-bumper fender bender that caused "very minor damage". This was fixed at the dealership and you can't tell anything happened. There aren't any structural, cosmetic, or functional signs left. I didn't know about it until I saw the report. (see pics)
