One of a Kind RX8

Year: 2004
Make: Mazda
Model: RX-8
Price: $12000
Mileage: 44000
Color: Blue and Black Two Tone
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (US State/Canada/Int): TN

I have for sale a 2004 Mazda RX8 with a 383 stroker under the hood. Current setup should be close to 500 hp. It was rebuilt from the ground up. It has 10:1 compression and is mated to a 6 speed T56 transmission. It has a 1 piece solid aluminum drive shaft. The chassis has 44k miles on it and the motor around 8k miles on it. The chassis has been reinforced and It is an absolute blast to drive. I just need money more than the rx8 so it needs to go.

Interesting car. I don't see an AC compressor, is it hiding somewhere? Does any of the HVAC work? How is it, that with that V8 in there, the nose is pointing to the sky?

it sets that high because of the suspension setup. If you have ever seen the old prostreet cars that have a slight lift than you will see the similarities. The v8 is mounted deep in the bay the current setup allows for plenty of clearance for the fat tires required for it to grip. As far as ac no there isnt any. Its not built to be a luxury vehicle its more of a true sports car at the moment

What makes you think that? Granted, I haven't seen this car in person...

Yeah, I remember this build too.
The car has no strut bar or AC.

Aircon and strut bars do not a good build make.

OP, I don't like the look of your car, but kudos for building an 8 with torque and reliability. To heck with the naysayers, you did what you wanted and I say you did a great job.

^ I think you missed the part where he wasn't the guy that built it, he bought it from the guy that did.

Sure 'nuff. In that case, good job owning one, OP.

I looked through the build thread. Obviously it's a shadetree job (what's wrong with that?), but I didn't see anything that looked overly worrisome...I guess I don't understand why several people have popped in just to crap on this guy's for sale thread. It wasn't built to appease everyone's tastes, so if it doesn't yours, don't buy it? Besides, I always enjoy stuff that pisses off purists.

Thanks guys. As far as negative comments it is to be expected. It is unique and wont fit into everyones taste. Although I didnt build it I have done work on it. Ive replaced the 2 1/2 driveshaft with a 3 1/2 inch. Ive replaced the exhaust manifold gaskets, rebuilt the carb, and replaced the oil pan gasket.Nit the same as building it but I have had my hands in it a little bit. Im not a fan of the wing on the back. If i keep it much longer its coming off and the car is getting resprayed. Probably white
