Manual, stock/near stock, low/one owner, clean history, <60K RX-8

Been checking all the listing sites religiously and finding it very hard to locate what I'm looking for. Not too fussed about sub-models. Prefer something from 2007+ but open to any cars/generation. Not picky on colors, more concerned with maintenance/ownership history, and a clean and accident free vehicle history. Non smoking vehicles interiors only. Budget is flexible, ideally under 11K but would like to be closer to the 5-9K range. Planning on having the car fully sorted for weekend driving duties. I had a 2004 GT 6 speed an an 11 R3 and need to have another dorito in my life. Any location is fair game.

Really appreciate the help and any leads. If it's an extremely clean/well looked after example with a good history that has engine troubles I'm open to that as well.

Thanks!

Apologies, that sig is out of date. I sold my R3 many moons ago (of course I wish I had it back).

Location: Fresno, CA 93611
Mileage: 76K
Price: $8500.00

Description: RX-8 Sport, manual tranny. Clean inside and out.

I am the third owner after a father and son that I bought it from. I have service records back to new. Clean title and I have the title in hand. Year 2010 makes this a desirable "Series 2". This car had motor replaced under warranty by the Mazda dealer barely 3 months ago. Also installed a fresh clutch. Unfortunately I don't have the time anymore to drive this beauty. Let me know if you are interested.

Here is a feeler I put out on on-line classifieds. Car is near stock, except recently installed a Bennett built coil set.

Listing on Throtl

Does that engine have any type of warranty on it?

Engine is a Mazda reman and was replaced under the original warranty by the dealer. My understanding is the replacement should have 1 year / 36K warranty but I would double check with Mazda to be sure.

Not exactly what you're looking for due to a rebuilt title, but only 35k miles and in great condition.

Are you still looking? Been thinking about putting my 2010 manual Grand Touring on the market:

Velocity Red, ~55k miles, no engine issues. New plugs, coils and wires around 34k. Leather, bluetooth, XM.

Let me know if you're interested, I have some pictures here: here. Ignore the odometer picture, I took these a couple of years ago when I wanted to sell it but changed my mind.

UnknownJinX 07-10-2019 12:16 AM

If you are okay with buying one in Canada, I will be putting mine up for sale soon due to work reasons.

Getting close to 70k miles and I am the 3rd owner, but it's pretty stock with just some minor interior mods and some backup sensors.

I also have an idea how to make the stock TPMS system work, so I can work with you to import it into the US.

Will get the compression numbers on Thursday.

Let me know if you are interested. Your budget range sounds good especially given the exchange rate.

I just posted my black R3 with 58k miles on autotrader today. What do you all think is a fair asking price?

2010 RX8 Silver GT- Stock, 2nd Owner, 6 speed, 68k miles

Hi there, was curious if you are still looking as I have a 2010 RX8 , mint condition ,6 speed manual, Silver / Black leather interior. It has 68k miles and has always been garaged. Oil changed religiously every 3 K, Has been incredibly reliable and is a kick to Drive. I am the second owner having purchased it in 2014. I have an Expedition as a daily driver and looking to sell the RX8 as it’s rarely driven and looking to clear my garage for a classic bronco project. Please PM me for further details and exchange contact info if interested. I’m located near Austin and can work within the budget numbers you listed. Thanks, Mark

Making your own FS ad might be more effective :)

I’m not looking for an S2, but thanks for asking. Best wishes on a quick sale.

Here’s his CL ad:

Oh wow I'm dumb. Sorry TeamRX8, just realized I sent you the PM instead of OP...:shocking:

My bad for the unsolicited ad :tear:. PM now sent to the actual OP.

Manual, clean history, less than 70K miles

Hey guys,
Can't create my own thread since I'm too new, but I'm looking to buy a clean RX-8 with service history and compression numbers. Would prefer to buy one that has some modifications on it, but that's not really a priority. My budget is $7K and would like to buy one in the NY, NJ, CT area. Let me know what you have!

Check out FB marketplace in the NJ area. There is a blue R3 that looks to be in nice shape for sale.

Yeah I saw that one, but it's a little out of my budget and I'm not a big fan of the removable steering wheel. Thanks for the recommendation though!

Aant0ni0 03-12-2020 10:17 AM

I have a 2007 in silver with 52k. Only mods are Racing Beat cat back and coilovers. I still have the stock parts. Text 585-465-9940 if you want pics/more details.

you’re not allowed to start new threads for a reason and attempting to hijack a dead thread to get around it demonstrates why newbs shouldn’t even be allowed to post outside the newb forum-crib area at all.

Or quite the opposite.

The restrictions had a reason to be here in the old days since traffic was busy. Now? The forum is pretty dead. These restrictions are getting pointless.

But yeah, either ban posting/starting a thread outside of the newbie forum or lift the thread-starting restrictions altogether.

TeamRX8 03-13-2020 04:15 PM

as you know, I get dinged for not following the rules the same as anyone else. It is what it is.

it may not be busy, but imo noobs running around without diapers pooping all over the place is still an issue. I’m not saying this guy is in that category, but all he has to do is make a few posts in the proper area to get out of the noob baby pen. zero history too, nobody knows what the deal is.

ummmmmm it's a wanted add... he wants what I am selling... Literally what like 10 other people did right above me....

TeamRX8 07-09-2020 12:16 AM

Sorry but that’s not accurate; you can start your own FS ad with all of your information, photos, etc. and then post a link to it in other WTB threads. Instead you keep posting your same info over and over again in other people’s threads. Since you’re new then it seems the subtlety of the difference warrants giving you the benefit of doubt in not understanding the difference, but now you know.

Also, in the event you’re not permitted to start a new thread yet, there are rules and reasons for that. It’d be a violation of the rules to try and circumvent the process by posting what is essentially a FS thread as a post in a WTB instead for the same reasons.

You may be a legitimate seller, but the sad truth is that grifters and scammers surf forums like this targeting WTB ads looking for sap victims to steal from. So some minimum safeguards are in place regardless of how annoying or silly they may seem.

However the one trump over all that is the WTB ad was posted in Feb/2019. Even if somebody was still looking for an RX8 over 17 months later when the market is essentially flooded with them, common sense would dictate sending the OP a private message or email inquiring on whether they’re still in the market or not. Which then your post in such an old thread makes it seem as an intentional attempt to post a “FS ad” in the guise of a thread post. Not saying you’re doing that because again giving you the benefit of doubt that you don’t fully appreciate these subtleties, but it should all be clear now.

.

.

Aant0ni0 07-09-2020 03:26 PM

Damn. There are so many rules to this place. All I want to do is post my RX8 for sale in an RX8 Forum. Not this complicated on any other forums I've been on (BMW and CBR). In the thred "{FREE} FS/WTB RULES :READ before any transaction done!" nothing is stated about having to post a certain amount of times before creating your own thread. Nothing is stated about how to post your own FS in a WTB add. You may want to add that because I read the rules and I didn't see that I was violating any.
