2009 RX8 Sport, 6MT

Year: 2009
Make: Mazda
Model: RX-8
Price: $8000
Mileage: 35000
Color: Silver
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (US State/Canada/Int): GA

I'm taking a break from motorsports for a bit due to a disease called mountain biking which my whole family has contracted, and I can't just keep staring at a nice sports in the garage not being properly used.

This is the sport model which has abs, lsd, 6-speed manual transmission, no sunroof, and no traction or stability control. Basically the best model (aside from the r3) for a track or autocross car. The car has only 35,000 miles and is in incredible condition other than the front bumper skin. Rebuilt GA title. Because I'm lazy, I'm going to try and sell it as a package deal street/track dual use car as that's how I've been using it (minus the kids booster seats). I have all the stock parts, which were in great shape when pulled.

Modifications:
Fortune Auto 500 Coilovers 9k/7k with 2 sets of lower mounts (standard and extended length)
Progress front swaybar
EVO-R adjustable endlinks (and spare set of AWR links)
GTE alignment
ATE brake fluid
Centric premium rotors
Carbotech XP10/XP8 pads
Rotary performance ignition coil isolater
Rotary performance oil cooler thermostat
Mazmart Remedy coolant thermostat
Koyo HH race radiator
LRB aluminum undertray
STX30L-BS battery
Racing beat oil cooler screens (fitted after all fins were straightened)
BHR catless midpipe
Racing beat block off plate, air pump delete
Firehawk Indy 500 215/45/18 on stock wheelset, lots of tread left
Kosei K5R 17x9 wheelset with Hankook RS4 235/45/17, lots of tread left
Ultraguage

Package price is $8k for everything listed, including both wheelsets and the stock parts. VIN JM1FE174990400520

Sport model is definitely the one to have. Especially for taller people.

The damage to the front bumper looks significant, and gets into the right fender. Looks like the headlight is pushed back too. How deep did you get into it to see what was damaged and how far it went?

I removed the bumper skin, crash bar, and front right fender. Oil cooler and bracket were bent, crash bar had been welded from previous repair (but not re-painted!!). Some of the crash bar bolt holes don't line up perfect. Fender is actually very good, no significant damage there other than the wavy crack in the paint. I repleaced the oil cooler, shroud, and fender liners. Sanded and painted the metal up front where it was needed. Shroud setup is 100% now on that oil cooler. Race shop had to pull the front a tad to the right. Bumper skin lines up well (not 100%) but no longer holds tight on that side, hence the small stainless screw you see in the photo. A new front bumper cover will be needed for it to be perfect. An airbag light was on when I got the car, and I brought it into the mazda dealership to have them check the system. All it needed was a new sensor, which they replaced. Headlights are level, and the adjustment works fine. I'm more than happy to answer any more questions.

I like your disease. I had it for many years myself former state champion. The state championship and $1.09 cents will buy you a Big-Gulp at 7-11.
i don’t know how tall you are but I just built up a Medium Niner SIR in fluorescent green with NEW XT 1x11 drive train, Red King wheelset w/ Black Revo’s Red DT nips & Stan’s 355 hoops, 142 rear & 15mm thru axle, Carbon Niner post, bars and stem, Fox Evolution fork w/ 130mm travel. I road it one time and it’s not for me! I’m sticking with my Moots 26er YBB with full XTR. The Niner is going up for sale on FleBay.

Oh, if you still have the OE front swaybar im interested in it.

Good luck,
MM

Congrats on the win. Bike sounds nice but I'm pretty happy with current setup (2017 diamondback release and 2018 cube reaction tm). This car is has been slowly returning to stock so I'm going to keep the OE swaybar for now.

UPDATE: The car now has fresh oil and filter (though the previous fill didn't even have 500 miles on it!), stock mid-pipe and re-installed air pump setup, and stoptech sport brake pads.

Open to trades - Could use a reliable and practical daily driver for my wife. Wagon or small SUV would probably be best, though anything with 4 seats and room for a large dog would work. Auto or manual trans. Trailer hitch and roof racks welcome.

I'm interested. I'll need to see CarFax AutoCheck and find out why the title was rebuilt, e.g. Water damage?? etc.

Please PM me. Will also need compression test after wards and before cash of course.
Thank you.
