This was the previous owner's project car and he set the car up with longevity and reliability in mind. The original CF drive shaft was fine, but he felt it was a weak point so he replaced it with a lightweight aluminum drive shaft that also has replaceable parts (unlike the CF drive shaft which is all in one.). That being said, the aluminum drive shaft is practically perfect so it would be a very long time until any parts have to be replaced.

REX,

Looks like a very clean car, lots of tasteful, effective goodies too. Very nice.

The elephant in the room is the compression numbers. If you throw up some pictures of a passing/above average compression test, I bet you would have multiple offers.

I made it to MazCare, my local Mazda mechanic. They used a Mazda Compression tester.
Below are the numbers.

Rotor 1: 250rpm 5.8-6.2-6.1
Rotor 2: 250rpm 5.7-5.8-5.6

I was hoping for higher numbers, but the car isn't new and I'm definitely not advertising it as such.
To me, this is an example of a very well-cared for, well-modded, nearly 15 year old car. It runs very strong, revs smooth to redline, starts up cold or hot perfectly every time, never stutters, doesn't have any strange idling issues, no suspension or compartment rattles, and it has a very solid high quality feel. Anyone who sees it, can't believe it's a 2005. For the money, there aren't too many cars is this price range that can put this kind of smile on your face with the high revs, amazing balanced handling, great shifting feel, and great fit/finish. I know the pictures speak for themselves. The guys at MazCare said it was one of the nicest and cleanest RX-8's they've ever seen.

Anyways, I've decided to lower the price to $6,500. Again, this includes lots of extra OEM and aftermarket parts.
Whoever gets this ride will be very happy.

I can send videos if you PM me.
Thanks.

i just a wonder if there is a possibility that their compression testing equipment has issues and/or whoever is doing the service doesn’t know what they are doing. May consider taking it to a rotary shop and having that test done again, with those numbers, should it not be difficult to fire up when the car is warm?

not always every motor is different in that aspect, some run fine with low comp.......until they dont. its still a pretty good bargain for this car tho

Still an amazing deal if you want something modded to the gills Holy ****!!! That Mod list goes on for days. Still a good deal many stock Rx8s with no compression test costing more.
