FS: Velocity Red, Red/Blk GT in Georgia
I recently bought this early 04' (8/03') Velocity Red GT with the Red/Black interior 6spd. It is a wingless car with the rotary accent option. I love the car, but I have recently obtained an RX7 shell and am going to build a track-car, so I need a truck to tow with. The car has 78k miles on it now (yeah, I drive a lot... about 120 hwy miles a week) I am a 13yr mechanic and have made shure all the recalls and maintnence are up-to-date on the car. The car is pretty much perfect and intact.
Since I purchased the car, I first changed the fluids and the plugs. Here is a list of what has been done since i got the car last August..
-Car was professionally detailed in 10/07 by a customer of mine that spent 8 hours on the paint alone. I did a turbo install on his 2000 S2K and he hooked my car up for some of the work I did.
-New Spark Plugs 8/07 (4)
-New Catalytic Converter and complete Cat-back exhaust 9/07 (via Mazda Warranty)
-Redline MTL synthetic trans fluid 11/07
-Royal Purple Differential Fluid 8/07
-New battery 12/07 (energizer brand from Sam's club)
-low-mileage OEM Mazda alternator 1/08 (from junkyard, dead battery must have ruined the original alternator)
-air filter and cabin filters replaced 9/07
-engine replaced (don't recall what mileage though... around 40K??)
The car has high mileage, but runs great and is in awesome condition.
PRICE $15,900 firm

Great to hear that this baby has been in the hands of a mechanic, but isn't 78k a lot of miles, especially on an engine that some say doesn't last long? Why are you selling it so soon after getting it? Is there anything aftermarket on the car or is it entirely stock?
I have family in Columbus so I'd consider flying down to see it but I don't know if I could do anything more than $15k. It just seems like a lot of miles. The paint is beautiful though.

Actually, I forgot to mention that the engine was replaced under warranty. I had the dealer provide me with the history when I brought it in for the new Catalyst.
The car is completely stock. I did have wheels on it at one point, but got rid of them.
The reason I am selling it is so I can build my 1993 RX-7 track-car project, and I need something more subtle for driving on the street. Trust me, I love the car to death, and it is the nicest car I have owned, but I am trying to be most logical.
I can't do $15K. Here is one from a few months back with 42K miles for $2,000 more than mine. https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8s-sale-wanted-43/2004-rx-8-gt-42-500-miles-red-ext-red-blk-int-houston-area-%2418150-130655/

You are gonna be hard pressed to get that price (especially on here) with the mileage that you have. I only had 36k on mine when sold and got 16k for it. I also consider the sale to be an incredible stroke of luck.
You being an actual mechanic may help but I don't know how much. Good luck with the sale and a free southeast bump.
