Actually have a sale pending....just trying to take a few extra measures to make sure it's not scam and that there is not any kind of fraud going on.

He will be sending money, and arranging for shipping, being that he is in NY. Just trying not to get screwed over with the whole payment thing and stuff.

So far, I've asked for a certified bank check from one of the banks that we also have here in town, for example Wells Fargo or US Bank. And then once the funds have been verified by a bank manager, then I will allow for the car to leave my custody.

Any suggestions on other precautions that should be considered? He is not someone on this site ( I don't think), however I'm sure this thread is how he found out about my car.

none to my knowledge....we don't use much salt on our roads. Minnesota uses alot though. And the car doesn't get driven to often when snow is on the ground. The toyos don't exactly grip the snow...lol

I am new to these forums and just started looking to buy a 04 rx8 for daily driver. I am looking to spend a little less but your piece of art is definitely worth the price. It just might be taboo to daily drive that sick 4$$ car to my work! it belongs in a show room. I need something I can still baby but drive to work every day. and I am really excited to see this kinda community for these great cars...

In having bought a car online before (ebay) make sure that you have ALL and i mean ALL the responsibility go on the shipping truck once it leaves your custody and take pictures, and it also helps if there is a car cover because of the distance, some have little hidden remarks saying not responsible for damage. and your smart in waiting for funds to clear, make sure he knows your going to wait for that as well so he doesnt think he is getting ripped and when you mail the title to him, do certified mail with a return receipt for signature.
