FS: 2005 RX-8 Grand Touring w/ Apperance Pkg White 6MT $13k
draft, written for a craigslist audience:
2005 Mazda RX-8 Grand Touring, with Appearance Package in White Water Pearl Mica 6MT, ~45,000 miles. $13,160
The car has the remainder of a extended six year, 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, as well as the eight year, 100,000 mile warranty on the engine.
Everything works flawlessly -- the only reason I'm selling the car is to buy a 2009 RX-8. I'm a sucker for rare cars (they only sold ~2000 RX-8s in 2009 and they discontinued white for 2010. I would have kept this car for a long time if not for this reason. It has to be white to match my 1995 RX-7 (1 of 500, only 13 in white). I also sold both my 1994 Miata M Edition (1 of 3000) and my 1996 Miata M Edition (1 of 2968) to fund the new car.
Blue Book Private Party Value
2005 Mazda RX-8 Coupe 4D
Condition Value
Excellent $14,785
Good $14,085
Fair $13,160
There is a scratch on the rear quarter panel and I've adjusted the price accordingly.
The car is 100% stock and adult owned. The car is garaged both at home and at work. Maintenance has been performed regularly and I have a stack of oil change receipts (every ~3000 miles, sooner than the recommended 7500 mark). The tires all match and have significant tread left. The leather is supple with no blemishes and no tears. The rear seats have barely been used. The car has never been raced.
At this price, other comparable RX-8s have significantly higher mileage, salvaged titles, are models with inferior trim packages, or a combination there of.
The Grand Touring Package adds:
Heated Leather Seats (Power drivers side, with height adjustment)
Power Sliding Glass Moon Roof
6 Disc CD Changer
Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound System with 9 speakers
Aluminum pedals
Door Sill plates with aluminum inserts
The car also features (though lacking in the some -- base/sport model/automatics)
Self-leveling Xenon headlights and halogen fog lights
Remote Keyless Entry System with Alarm
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Traction Control System (TCS)
Carbon Fiber Driveshaft
Plus this car has the Factory Appearance Package ($1,200 option, wasn't able to add this to KBB site) and the Factory Apple iPod dock. ($200, In glove box) They all have the same standard ABS, Leather Wrapped Power Steering, Windows, Mirrors, Tire-Pressure Monitoring System, Front + side airbags, air conditioning, etc.
When contacting me by email, please leave your name and phone number and I will get back to you shortly. The car is available for viewing from 9-5 M-F in San Francisco/Golden Gate Park or in Pacifica in the evening and on the weekends.
$13,160 or best offer. Lowballers will be ignored. I will also accept an 89-91 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II or Convertible (in Crystal White only) as partial payment. 1994+ Miata R Package in Chaste White also acceptable.

Plus I think 2009 was the only year they offered a Grand Touring without a moon roof, so that worked out for me.

I have no idea -- it's never taken me more than a week or two to sell a car. Heck, this year I sold three alone. Post an ad, sell it, post another.. never simultaneously either.

^ Simple; price it fairly and provide the level of detail as nicely done in this post.
Take the emotion out of your self-evaluation of your vehicle. Look around at what similar vehicles are going for. Most people feel their car is worth alot more then it really is. And keep in mind it's a buyer's market these days.

Yup!
I have one of your old key chains on my jacket and the waitress there asked me what it was.
I drove the car from TN to CA, hence these random shots along the way.
Yeah, small world.
The RX-7 world is even smaller, most of the time when RX-7 parts get posted on craigslist I automatically know who it is.

There was one leg where I hit 22mpg. I'm sure it would have been better had I gone slower.
Used a lot of oil too. It needed 1.5 quarts along the way, with me filling up when I got home too. Certainly way more than my old RX-8 or any of my RX-7s.
