2010 R3 with 11k miles

Well I'm officially putting my R3 up for sale. I ordered a new toy, and I need room in my stable lol. I'd love to keep it, but I can't. It's been listed on cargurus, but I was never quite sure if I wanted to sell it or not. Now I am. So here's a link to my build thread.

https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/my-low-mileage-r3-build-268116/

Car is just past 11k miles. Runs perfect, idles flat, cold start, hot start, you name it. I don't have compression numbers, but if someone is serious I'm sure we can figure something out. Car comes with all mods and stock components.

https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/share/223473822

Don't come at me with KBB value crap please, we all know what a car this rare in this condition is worth.
So if you're interested, and serious, let me know.

Hey I remember talking to you about this car and you wouldn't sell it for less than 22k. What happened, lol? I don't think you'll get 20k even, 17k maybe but regardless, GLWS.

+1 Lots of possibilities with a budget of $20k. I'd come to terms and get what you can, while you can. GLWS!

I lowered it a bit. 20k I think is fair. If it sells, great. If not, I'll enjoy it for a while longer lol.

I changed my mind after seeing the photo of your car DannyR3, Ferrari is not the only car I would think of buying in red.

It's pretty isn't it? You should see the paint up close, has a metallic flake in it, it's gorgeous. You definitely get a lot of looks in this car. Mazda did a great job with the styling. And with the opened up exhaust it sounds it too. Just wish it had a bit more power and a faster steering rack. Other than that, it's perfect.

I've been looking at your R3 since its been on Cargurus. I will be honest though the high price did deter me away. It is very hard to top such a low milage clean R3 in the market though.New Supra Perhaps in the cards?

Aurora Blue and Velocity Red are the best colors for these, and yours is a great example.

The price seems high when faced with KBB/NADA, general public perception of these cars, but the R3 is rare, this mileage and condition is rare, and the audience for these cars is one that may appreciated that fact. GLWS, I hope you find a buyer, and I'm sorry I can't be the one to buy it.

Rarely not in need of a new engine soon which the extended 8 yr engine warranty likely either has or will soon run out. Not trying to knock you, but if you were half as serious as you expect a $20k buyer to be, then a compression test from a Mazda dealer would be the very first picture you’d be posting up. Sounds more like you’re afraid of the potential results and hoping for that one sucker fish to hook up.

No that's not it at all. If I was desperate to get rid of it, I'd have priced it 5k less lol. It idles flat, starts hot and cold on the first crank, and pulls hard (for an RX-8) all the way to redline. I agree it would be better to have it done but with a busy career where I'm away from home weeks at a time it's a little tough sometimes. The car and I have nothing to hide, but I understand the skepticism.

Edit: if you happen to know someone willing to mail me a tester to borrow, I'd be happy to pay postage both ways.

New Zupra is indeed my intention. But I have to sit in it first. I'm 6'3 lol.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is a bona fide, world class supercar available for only $20K! Here’s hoping you get every penny of your asking price, or close to it.

I'll entertain a reasonable offer. I just want her to go to a good home.

Decided I love the car too much to let her go. Bought a few thousand worth of upgrades for her, and looking to spend some more so she's staying. I've had many, many people interested, and I thank you all, but I can't let her go.
my new toy, a 2020 Supra is parked right next to her in the garage and honestly, if it had a rotary powerplant let's say a 16x with a turbo it would have been an awesome rebirth of the RX-7.
So, I'm happy, the wife not so much, so all is right in the world.

Beautiful car i just picked up a 2009 r3 blue and i have to say the refinement from S1 to S2 is very much improved. Why is the wife not happy she has the best seat next to you.

She's fine. I explained that cars are to me what purses and shoes are to her I had said I'd sell a car to make room for the Supra, but even though I've gotten tons of responses, and some very decent offers, I just can't bring myself to do it. The Supra will most likely be my daily starting in the spring. It comes on summer tires and I don't feel like buying winter tires when I have a VERY capable 2015 STI that just plows through snow like it's nothing. I previously dailied a 2017 VW GTI which my wife will probably use, or I'll sell that. Even though it is a very good car, and deceivingly quick with the DSG, and has an excellent interior, it misses the emotional attachment I get to cars. It doesn't stir the soul I guess. The Supra is just 100% badass. I don't care who makes it, it is incredible.

Supra

I agree the supra is bad ***. The rx8 is special too just different. The supra is raw power going side ways under control. They both are different. The rx8 being a 2010 r3 is special. You cannot sell it.

agreed on all counts. And it's sitting at 11k miles and change at the moment. She starts on the first crank, hot or cold, and just loves redlining. With the dual resonated midpipe and the exoticspeed catback she sounds like an old F1 car going under a bridge lol. I just ordered Koni adjustables 10 minutes ago which will drop her another 5 MM or so, she should be sitting perfect. Alignment in the spring, I'm picking up a Mazdaspeed wing this weekend, just needs some tint and I'm painting the calipers black.
