Yes - I had 2 shops quote me around $4k to install a new motor, including the labor and motor itself. So, for about $12k you can have one of the baddest RX8s around. I really hate to sell it but I already bought another car and this has to go.

 

At this time, I am not going to part anything out. I am selling the car as a whole. I'll let you know if I change my mind. Thanks for your interest.

 

If I sold the kit separate, I would probably need $4k for it. I spend $1700 on the brand new dual ball-bearing Precision T62 and it literally has about 3k miles on it. I also had to get a custom turbo manifold made as the old one was cracked. This cost another $3k. So, I'm already taking a loss on it and the gauges cost over $500, which I'll throw in with boost controller.

 

I can't believe I still have this car! I know it's not running, but this car has everything and absolutely FLIES on the road. Would not sell this if I didn't have a baby on the way and a mortgage to pay for. Please help a fellow member (and yourself) out and take this from me!!

I may start parting it out soon, but really a last resort as I travel a lot for business.

 

the issue is, you're trying to sell to people who already own an 8! And, people looking to buy are wanting warranty.
I haven't read the whole thread, but are you trying to sell this via other resources?

If I was in the market, this car would definitely peak my interest. It's gorgeous!

i am all about this car... just waiting for my N/a 8 to sell.

 

I do have the car listed on some other sites. I understand that many most people here already have an 8, but I also know that sometimes people come here to look for them when they are in the market for a great sports car.

Thought it was worth a try for the exposure! I will most likely be putting the car on eBay soon. If I do, I'll include a link here.

wow I been looking for a rx8 not really ready for one now but I may try to see if i can hurry up And see if I can get it, I have family in san antonio ,how far are you from their, I have to put my car for sale i know it will sell quick , I really wanted a running 8 but this baby is a beast, I have a cousin that rebuilts rotary engine , all i have to do is fly him from chicago to florida , witch he dont have a problem and get this car running, i can go get car but ive done this before and im looking around 1,000 dollar trip . Ive taking cars up to chicago back and forth and thats about what i spend, pm the LOWEST you will go that way i can see if i can or cant, NO BULL, thanks
