search for my 3M thread- many pics- 2 things - the installer told me that it takes some time for water to evaporate from under the film, so even though I had one area on the rear quarter panel that had a big bubble of water trapped there, it went away after a few weeks (air will not though) It's hard to tell from your pics, but honestly I do not think it looks very good. My install looked much better even teh same day- very little texture, and your seems to have tons of trapped water or air pockets? maybe it's the pic. The 3M material should have almost no texture at all when done- maybe I can see some when loooking at a reflection of a light in the surface. I had the X-pel kit done. see my posts

Does anyone know if you can/should use something like zaino b4 you have xpel (or equiv) put on the car?

Zaino Before X-Pel

Any good applicator will remove all polish from the car through a combination of clay bar and light stripper before installing the X-Pel. I zaino'd mine before the installation with no issue.

I made an initial inquiry into this the other day, and was told it would have to be put on in multiple pieces due to all the curves. Colin and anyone else who's had this done, can you tell me how many pieces it went on in?

Thanks...

this is the Xpel kit for the RX8, every body panel gets one piece, if your installer is cutting it into multiple pieces he is not installing it correctly, BTW, the those two parts below the bumper opening but together when installed.

I live in MD, BWI area, and I am pricing Xpel, or other like products, for my 8.
Can anyone recommend good installers (with reasonable prices) in MD (or maybe N. VA)?
I have seen one post that said $600 but the location was Texas...
Many thanks !
