WHITE STUFF ON PLASTiC PARTS

hey are you guys getting any white dots or stains on the black plastic (or watever material that is) parts of the car. for example, like the plastic under the side mirrors and the plastic surrounding the exhuasts.

if anyone can relate to this problem...give me tips on how to remove it or tell me what that stuff is...like is it something that stained it white or did the black color come off of it somehow

thanks

There's at least one older thread already on this topic so be sure to make use of the Search button above in the future, but here's one of my earlier postings: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...505#post522505

Visit the Autopia link (great detailing website) for a recommendation of 3M Adhesive & Wax Remover. I recently found this product and have used it once but so far haven't found it to do the job. I imagine if I'd used a toothbrush to apply it, I would have gotten better results.

One rule of thumb that I've found very useful is to dress the black plastic parts before you wax the car (I actually use the clear liquid tire shine stuff). It's much easier to remove excess wax that way. Other people say to use masking tape to cover the plastic parts, but I found it to be a frustrating and too-slow process.

and use the brissels (soft) of a toothbrush to remove wax lines/build up.

Mothers Back to Black is a good product to remove wax residue on the black trim.
