What will you use to keep it shiny?
 

Personally I'm a big fan of "polymer" type protectants and use Zaino. Love the results.
Carnuba type waxes are too hard to use and simply don't last nearly enough or provide the same results imo.

I had a cloth that absorbed dust without scratching. I think they are called "Quik Cloth" or "Crazy Cloth" something like that. I used it on my black 83-RX7, and it worked like a charm.

Anyways - that, lots of liquid wax, armour all, mild car detergent, real chamois and lots of love and affection. Oh and Rain-X windshield fluid.

I use Valma products, I don't know if they sell this brand outside Europe. IMO, it's one of the best products on the market.

I've had good luck with Meguiar's products, the Cleaner-Wax after a winter's hideous sand and salt seems to remove the tiny scratches and dullness. Then I use the Gold Class when the oxidation or scratches aren't a problem.

Thinking I might try Zymol sometime.

I've heard Klasse polymer is also very good.

Auto Glym's polishes are pretty good. T-cut colour fast if a bird craps on it and removes the shine.

I have found and have used for years, Zymol. IMO that's the BEST wax to use on a car. The darker the color, the more Zymol shines. It lasts a long time and it is very delicate on paints. It is the only car wax that contains banana extracts. If you smell closely, your RX-8 will smell like a subtle hint of banana. Zymol is the s*!^t.

Auto glym- super resin followed by Extra Gloss. looks fab on my CTR anyway.

I use Zymol--the $50 Japon formula. Yeah, sometimes it can be tough to work with if it's cold out, but I like it anyway; although I must admit I switched to Zaino for a short while a few years ago and thought the shine appeared deeper and wetter. Even though Zaino is a liquid and wipes off quite easy, I considered the process to be harder only in that it required all those steps and layers to get results, not to mention waiting for each layer to completely dry before applying the next coat. I also felt that while Zaino left an excellent shine, it might not have been protecting my paint as well as a good wax. Sure, you wipe off wax too, but surely a tiny film remains, otherwise one couldn't burnish the shine. Plus, being able to slide a huge chunk of bird shit off the paint like a fried egg off a non-stick pan is just like magic. (^_^) For me, knowing there's even a thinest layer of wax gives me peace of mind.

I have no idea what wax/polish my detailer uses on my car. I do know it's not Zaino, because I asked him about that and he hadn't heard of it.

Zaino... I've got a 2 year old Cobra without a single swirl mark that attests to the magic that is Zaino...

Does anybody know if Zaino is available in Europe? I have looked but I couldn't find it. Maybe it is marketed under a different name?

Zaino's only available via mail order. Their web site ( http://www.zainobros.com ) has the order form. I don't know if they ship internationally, but if you dash off an email to them, I'm sure you'll get a quick reply (I've had occasion to email them in the past, and the reply was very quick).
