I have a cross hanging from my mirror. Interesting about thieves though, have never heard that....although I have had a cross hanging from my mirror for the last 10 years or so and have not had one broken into (knocking on wood).

I've got my front plate, on the bracket (with mangled bolt holes), complete with some dead bugs (from being on my previous car). Just incase a cop ever gives me a hard time....

"Officer, I just came out and it was hanging by one bolt, all the nuts were missing, so I took it off and put it in the trunk so it wouldn't fall off while driving to the Mazda dealer down the road where I am heading right now to get a new bracket."

TRUNK - Plug kit for the next flat (fingers crossed) in addition to the stock kit and a quart of oil with a screw on on/off spout. I carry oil in all my cars.
Glove compartment - dash duster, compass, (no gloves!)
Console/food warmer - dog water dish (very small, he's a chihuahua) and CD's.

Nope--- it's stealth black with a pointy (detailer) brush on the other for those nasty crevases around the shifter flange.

No bizarre looks, - the wife does it.

Here are the items in the passenger compartment of my RX-8.

1. Rosary hanging from the mirror (my mother insists)
2. I-Pod mini with case and Kensington FM Mod (only one I recommend) in my super secret compartment in the center console.
3. Radar detector (stashed in glove compartment or in use)
4. Perscription glasses with sunglass attachment (guess where)
5. Windshield cover (stashed in pocket in passenger back seat)
6. Cherry air freshner spray (really strong and goes with the red/black interior)
7. Lint brush in driver side door pocket (lots of pet hair)
8. Cell phone charger attached to cigarette lighter or stashed in glove box.
9. Cell phone (only when I am driving)
10. EZ Pass (stuffed in glove box) (NE folks know what this is)

In the trunk
1. Spare tire (got it with the car, didn't know it was an option till I came to this website)
2. Gym bag
3. Extra gym towels
4. Hospital style pee bottle (really useful when no rest stop is near by)
5. Ice scraper
6. Dry gas (in case I run out of gas)
7. Jumper cables (stuffed with the spare)
8. Tire goo kit (came with the car)
9. Flares and flashight

With all that, when everything is tucked away, you only see the rosary... I love all the little storage compartments in the RX-8. Way more than my old Mustang.

An assortment of parking coupons each spotted with small circular tearouts (to indicate date and time for half hour parking increments) that make a total mess of my interior It's like confetti in the car...I curse the genius who devised this as 'efficiency'

ha ha ha.... I got a couple of dvds to watch in traffic and a one of those gel wrist savers on the center console, the same one you would use for your computer. Well I use it to rest my arm in traffic.

i have a little blue ninja bobble head on the center of the dash, i use the rear cupholder to hold 2 air fresheners, they are about the size of a soda can, only half as tall. they are 'squash' sent....trust me its a really good smell.

I also have a small spray bottle of the same squash sent, to combat the smell of sweat when i get in the car after working out.

thats all youll see in the car that isnt stock inside, i like to keep everything very neat and clean, only the stuff i need is in the car.

I also have a small piston key chain....its just a piston and con. rod that is attached to the switchblade keyfob. as a joke. its about 1" tall, they sell them at pepboys in the ricer isle
