Hi all,

Have searched the forum high and low, but could not find a satisfying solution.

Had a bottle of liquid wax on the floor of the back seat. Didn't notice the cap was loose... the result... wax running over the floor carpet (the original carpet, NOT floor mats!). Soaked up as much as I could with damp microfibre cloth. Now left with white/yellow stain over the floor carpet.

What should I do? Really feel like replacing the entire carpet, but perhaps that would be too costly, difficult, and ****. Are there any product specifically made to clean and restore carpet without causing even further damage/fluffing/color change/fading? Accidents do happen... but it bugs me everytime I see that patch!

Would greatly appreciate any suggestion. Thanks.

 

Try the stuff called "Goo Gone" which is available at Home Depot. Saturate the area, let it sit for a bit, then blot to remove. Best stain remover I've ever found is called "Spot Shot" and is available at Safeway. Between the tow of these products, you should be able to get out most any stain.
