There is a Super VRT from Adam's that I like to use on my trim after quick washes. It has SPF 35 protection built in and its waterproof. It doesn't darken it up a whole lot but it does keep it protected and leaves a more detailed look. That trim is just like your paint it has to be cared for and moisturized otherwise it starts to look like all that gross Volvo trim :puke:

VRT works great on the engine bay, love the stuff.

Do you dilute it to like a 1:3 so its sprayable or just apply it with the UFO pad?? The pad is a pain to hit everything but the spray seams like overkill or mess.

Tire Shine or Isopropyl and a bit of elbow grease.)

Heat gun actually works like magic

When you say heat gun,
Do you mean slowly move the gun forward and back to melt the plastic to return it to a black colour again?

Meguires Tire Wet...

i know it sounds crazy, but on anything plastic, rubber, or synthetic leather/vinyl it works wonders. also exterior plastic. spray on a damp microfiber or cotton cloth, wipe on/in, wait till it 'dries' and you see streaks/dry/missed areas, or about 20 minutes, and wipe down with damp cloth saturated with Tire Wet again and allow to dry.

ive tried everything and Tire Wet works best with no adverse effects. even better than Back to Black, lasts longer, and doesn't smell like dog poop. Also clears up/out accidental car wax on black plastic.

...2004, interior was grayed out/plastic looked faded, gunked up and generally abysmal... looks brand new and smells great now. even the engine bay looks new; all i did was wipe down with a damp cloth, clean up stains/misc stuff, and rewipe with a damp cloth with Tire Wet saturated as well, waited 20 minutes, then wiped down again with same Tire Wet saturated damp cloth.

pics dont do it justice; try it and you'll see. rear bumper trim (center) looks brand new, same with all exterior plastics. my exhaust shrouds are half melted, but where they arent extra crispy, they look brand new.

I use 303 aerospace protectant. . It leaves a clean looking finish. No greasy/oily residue.

Never Never use plastic on plastic or rubber. It dries it out and turns a dull color.
