I thought I would share my simple solution to getting at the dirt and grime around your lug nuts. I washed my car today...yes I live in so. cal and yes it is now raining and yes it will rain all week----so what ....... and I decided to try to clean around the lug nuts with Q-TIPS. It works great!!!! I always want the wheels to look perfect and I was happy with the results........

 

Cool tip, CStokes. I use QTips to remove excess wax in hard-to-reach crevices (i.e., the strip between the roof and door; the rubber lining around the hood). Never thought to use them around the lug nuts, though. I'll have to give it a shot. Can't wait til I get to detail my car next!

 

Yep, also great to clean inside the 2 holes that are on the face of each spoke.

On a separate note, don't use q-tips in your ears!

That's a good way to injure your ear.

 

What's recommended? Q-Tips to clean lug nuts, so wheel cleaner for the ears .

 

Can you use them to remove boogers in your nose?

 

I use the Q-tips to clean up the edges of the panels when you wax.

The little overhang just drives me nuts.
