Yes. I called and e-mailed Meguiar's on what I should do to get as wet a look for my Ti gray 8 (is that even possible?), and they said to use the Deep Crystal polish under the NXT Tech wax, applying at max 2-3 coats of NXT. Plus, if you visit any auto detailing site (i.e., autopia), they'll tell you to polish first, wax second.

yea, polish first and then wax. NXT will only last 2 to 3 weeks. Autopia did a comparison test and NXT did not last long, but i still love using it.

Little tidbit--Apply the polish in straight lines; apply the wax in circular motion.

Not sure why that is, but I think I read that somewhere on Autopia.

from the articles i read, doing it in swirls will just lead to swirl marks. its suppose to be up and down motion. The way air travels. The swirl remover is a polish, just a big harsher. So you can skip the glaze #7 part.deep crystal is just another product line of meiguars that has 3 steps of paint prep, polish, and then wax. hope this helps.

Yes, straight lines. I looked a little deeper into the subject at Autopia and some people do both polish and wax in straight lines (see http://www.autopia.org/forums/showth...threadid=42369 ). Call me old fashioned, but I still prefer waxing in circles; I just don't apply a lot of pressure.

And I'm still not sure about using Dawn. I used it the last time I washed my car (mixed with car wash soap, for safe measure), but I don't know how good or bad it is for the paint/clear coat and will probably not use it the next time I do a wash.

Here's a thought: try using the Booster Wax in between wax layers. I did that this last time and my car looked the best it's looked in all my washings. My order of operations was: dawn/car soap wash, car soap wash (to get off any remaining Dawn), Deep Crystal polish, NXT Tech wax, NXT Booster wax, NXT Tech wax, NXT Booster wax. It gave me the most depth my paint has ever had. Unfortunately, no pictures to show just yet. Will try to have some up mid week when I can get my hands on a digital camera!

BTW, here's a pic of the polish, which you can find in most auto stores. Not sure how it compares with the other polishes/glazes out there.

im gonna clay my car first, i was wondering if i can use the Booster NXT for the claying...instead of the quick wax.........and i guess ill just use setep2 polish with nxt........since glaze 7 doesnt work as well with nxt? i have some swirl marks, does the step 2 polish take that off? or should i just apply that swirl 2.0 before the step 2 polish, then nxt?

Someone else will have to tell you about removing swirl marks b/c my paint does not have any (knock on wood). My brother's Mazda6 has light swirl marks, and I tried to use ScratchX before the Step2 polish, but it didn't fully do the job. I might not have rubbed the ScratchX in hard enough, though. I'm not sure which polishes/glazes work better with NXT either. The Meguiar's tech might not have recommended #7 to me, perhaps, because he assumed that I would only buy from their consumer line, so don't necessarily not use the #7. I read the product description on their website and it looks like a good product.

As far as the polish, then, I use it for gloss and depth, rather than scratch removal right now. I would NOT, however, recommend the Booster Wax for claying. You need a QD (quick detailer), not a wax/quick wax, for lubrication. The Booster wax would just harden up on you. Most clay bar systems already come with a bottle of QD, or you can get one just about anywhere (Meguiar's makes one; I use Eagle One Wipe & Shine, $3.99). You should keep a bottle of QD in your trunk anyway for when you need to wipe off bugs, dirt, or, my main culprit right now, tree sap on the spot.

I may be slightly off with this, but I think this will be the order of your steps, given everything you've told us so far:

1) Wash
2) Clay w/ QD
3) Wash
4) Swirl remover?
5) Polish
6) Wax

Hope that helps. Have fun with it!
