Oil Additives and Fuel Cleaners?

HI there,

Does anyone know whether you can use the oil additive products they sell on the market to help decrease wear and tear?

Do they work for the rotary engine and more inportantly are they safe to use?

Try posting this question in the Tech Garage, you'll get more responses.

What you'll hear is that oil additives are unnecessary and potentially harmful. The rotary engne is very different than piston engines in that oil is injected into the combustion chamber to lubicrate the apex seals. Any additive will therefore be injected. If the additive doesn't burn completely you could have problems. Fuel additives like Techron or other injector cleaners are safe. But don't expect any performance gains.

Good quality gas and freqent oil changes with new filters are all you really need. Save your money and forget the additives.

I tried 2 stroke oil with the stock MOP intact, it did clean up (I think) from the less black exhaust plus the smoother idle but I don't see the point to using it anymore unless as a monthly clean up thing.
