Need some help with cleaning
This weekend I applied my first Zanio coats to the RX8. Washed with dawn, claybar, Z7 wash, Z2, Z6, Z2 and final Z6. Car looks great.
The problems started when I attacked my second car, a Volvo. Completed the dawn wash and was "claybaring" when I noticed some colour differences on certain parts of the car. The paint looks tainted with patches of darker colouring, which makes it look like is wasn't washed. The claybar wasn't having an impact at all.
Any suggestions what to do. I think that it will stand out more when I start polishing with Zaino.
Thanks for the help

what year is it? have you always owned it or did you buy it used?
I had a '94 Jimmy before my RX and the paint on the front of the truck was a different shade than the rest due to the fact it had been in an accident prior to my owning it and was a crappy paint job.

Hard to say without a picture but it sounds like the finish could be oxidized, and the "darker" areas may actually be the few remaining areas that aren't oxidized. This may call for more aggressive treatment than clay - i.e. rubbing compound to remove the "dead" paint layer and get down to healthy paint.
Don't start this on my word alone since as I said it's just speculation without seeing the car. Rubbing compound does remove paint and needs to be used properly and with respect for its power.
