i have a million small scratches
how can i get rid of them. i notice them everyday and it puts me into a bad mood. HELP!:banghead:
you can go to your autoparts store and buy some mild polishing liquid. Follow the directions on the bottle and use a clean rag and you should be able to buff them out. Don't use a buffer unless its a dual action (dont use a drill attachment) or you are going to burn the paint.
^or better yet have a professional buff it with a rotary buffer. It will probably look the best this way and most scratches will be removed better

ok thanks for the help

What color is your car??
Check out the vids on the Meguiars site. I have the links listed in the thread I posted above... It will show you how to use the products and the end results. ;) Good luck. Take before and after pics if you us Meguiars and post in the above thread... |

is there a black cherry mica curse because I need to buff mine out and I'm thinkin i'll just pay to have it done right the first time.
Sounds more like you have micro swirl marks which is normal if you don't use the proper cleaning products and materials. That's very easy to remove with a PC, light abrassive liguid and light cutting pad. Scratch-X is good for small areas, but I think you want the whole car done. Check your local area for guys that detail for fun....like me. ;) I'm always helping others out with their rides.
invest in the porter cable. once you learn to use it you'll be amazed how clean your car can be. go hang out at www.autopia.org
^^^ Danny, when you gonna help me use that Porter cable on mine??? :D:

^ your better off doing it yourself and investing on your own product...cus eventually your gonna have to do it again...my 2cents...

Scratch-X works pretty well for light scratches, Meguiar's is also releasing a new one, D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream, I don't know when they are releasing this one, supposely stronger, you can read about it on Meguiarsonline forum.
i concur. the porter cable is a great choice.

Buff the car with a porter cable. do one section completly at a time to see which combo is need it.
start with SSR1 on WHITE PAD if they are still there try SSR1 on ORANGE PAD if they are still there try SSR2.5 on white pad again if they are still there try SSR2.5 on ORANGE PAD. this is why i said to try it on one panel until you get what works for you. after you buff the car apply KLEARCOTE glaze and seal it with POORBOYS SEAL. your car will look so good you wont believe it. |
do they look like the ones on the left side of my sig pic? if so, then you need me to detail it lol. but seriously a porter cable and some quality polish (meguiars) will do the trick
yea a porter cable / meguiar's g100 / autopia's UDM and some meguiar's m80 or m83 works wonders
