How to Prevent Dust?

I just spend 5 hours washing, claying, and waxing my car yesterday and it looked awesome! Now though after one day of driving its dusty anyone have any suggestions on to prevent this? Or should I just get the California Car Duster?

Mindtrip, if you don't mind spending a couple of bucks, I found a very good way to keep dust off the car. Fiber-Works Microfiber carries this mitt thats meant for "drying". Due to its texture, it picks up a great amount of dust, almost all of it. I keep my car in my garage and it gets quite a bit of dust. I just run the mit over the car quickly and in about 2minutes or less its spotless again. If you want to pick one up, their link is in my sig.

I have a California Duster and I absolutely love it, but a few weeks ago a friend told me that it could possible scratch the paint. How true is that? Coming from this person I should take it with a grain of salt, but I wanted to ck with the experts first (you guys) :D

Mindtrip:

Yes -- that is the one I have in the link.

The material is somewhat similar to the california duster. I like it much better cause its easier to manipulate becasuse it goes over you hand. I have the large calif. duster but I use my mitt more. Its also easier to carry along in the car to remove dust on the interior as well. Just soak it in some warm water every once in a while to remove the dust, let it dry, and use it all over again. If you try it -- let me know how you like it.

After Ive washed and waxed I go over my car with a light misting of Zaino Z-6. The bottle states is has anti static/dust capabilities. Does it keep ALL the dust/pollen off? Of course not, however, I have seen about a 60% reduction. Something is better than nothing.

All kinds of wax help "prevent" dust from building up because the dust doesn't stick to the surface of the car as easily when it's waxed. I'm sure the Zaino might be better at preventing it than some other waxes but either way, when some dust DOES build up - only way to get it off is to wipe it or wash the car.

Use a California duster to get the major dust off then use a microfiber towel and a quick detailer (I like Griot's Speed shine)
