I got a chance to clay bar this weekend. Then put on some S100 shine enhancing cleanser, Klasse All In One and then S10 carnauba paste wax.

My process,

1. Wash w/ dish washing soap to get off oils, wax, etc.
2. Clay Bar
3. Wash again w/ dish washing soap
4. Meguiars cleaner wax
5. Meguiars #7 Polish
6. Meguiars #26 Show Car Glaze
7. Mothers Back to Black on the rubber seals and plastic
8. Clean windows w/ eagle f1 20/20
9. Clean interior
10. Shine tires
11. Polish exhaust tips

I just did this whole process today, took me 6 hrs. The 8 feels better than it did brand new. Some advice on drying the car after washing, use a leaf blower starting from the top of the car, down. Oh, and only 100% cotton on every towel that touches the car.

i've always heard washing a car with dishwashing soap is he worst thing that you can do... why would they make car wash if you weren't supposed to wash your car with it

Dishwasher soap and car wash soap are two different products. You do not use dishwasher soap after you have waxed you car because dishwasher soap will remove the wax. People often use dishwasher soap to strip the wax when they want to start fresh like tho OP did. Hope this helps.

It's been cleaner, but I didn't feel like spending all day cleaning my car. It's due for yet another coat of Zaino one of these days though.

Hahaha! How clean is your "new" car. Props to those with older models keeping it new. No one believes I have an 04'.
