Got spraypainted last night

Well, woke up to a trunk lid with a green squiggle across it. Thankfully it was my Old Nissan that got hit by some idiots.

So the first thing I did was grab the isopropyl alcohol and a box of kleenexes and wiped the paint right off.

Downside is that the amount of isopropyl alcohol i needed to use also stripped the clearcoat and caused the paint to run and fade in some areas.

Well, its better than a huge green splotch on the trunk lid.

Those kids should count their blessings that I didnt catch them.

I don't think you can really strip the coat completely. Maybe not even enough to say it causes the current look.

No debate here . She is what she is. So maybe it's just the wax differance you are seeing.

Ok how about wash the whole trunk, polish, clay bar, then examine the lok.

Rewax.

Great job for removing the green paint. Maybe the paint adhere to the clear coat so when you cleaned it with alcohol the paint removed the clear coat not the alcohol.

Good Luck.

PS I used all alcohol and clay bar on the Buick. No clear coat mising.

I would've just clayed it. Body shops have claybars that are used to get rid of overspray so it'd work for spray paint.

i just waxed it, I give it a look after it sets for a while. Hopefully it was just excessive drying of the clearcoat/paint in some areas.

Well when you were wiping off the spray paint, did the rag come away with color from the car's paint?
