First Cleaning with NXT

First off, thanks for the great resource...great reading here.

I got my 8 last week and made the ~90 minute trip up to my family's place. When I got there, I discovered some family members more than willing to help give the 8 it's inaugural wash and wax.

I used the NXT Tech Wax (at the suggestion of many in this forum).

The next day I drove back home (another ~90 minutes) and parked in the garage. Of course, upon getting out of the car, I found the front to be all bug splattered.

No problem... a quick trip to the local AutoZone and some detailing spray later, I had all the bug splats removed (quite easily after the NXT application, I must add). The detailing spray was nothing special ('Eagle One' from AutoZone). I feel relatively certain that it effectively removed not only my bug guts, but also my NXT.

No problem....a quick trip to the store for a bottle of the NXT "Wax Booster" and a return to my garage. 5 minutes later, I'm done applying the Wax Booster, and I have the 'just waxed' NXT look and glassy feel back again.

So, all this to ask this question....

Is there a detailing spray that I can get at a local store (WalMart, Target, AutoZone, etc) that's not going to strip my NXT right off, or am I going to be forever 'stuck' babying my 8 with 'Wax Booster' (not that I mind that....I kindof enjoy giving it that 'special lovin')?

Any suggestions appreciated!

Thanks!

I use NXT, and I use the Meguiar's Quick Detail, doesn't seem to affect the wax.

Where have you found the Meguiar's quick detail? I looked for a Meguiar's detailing product and couldn't find one.

Thanks!

Kmart suprisingly has it...it comes with a free clay bar...nice for safely removing the spots and it is inexpensive too...good luck

Kmart has the detailing spray...sorry for not clarifying (with the free clay bar and great instructions) I use the detailer and clay bar with my NXT applications regularly (to get bugs off mostly) good luck and feel free to ask many more questions

Of course, now that all the KMarts are closed in this part of the world, I discover the one useful product I could've bought there.....

Anyone found it anywhere else? (I checked online, but it'd cost as much to ship it to me as the product itself costs).

Walmart, Autozone, Advance Auto all have had it when I've been in.

I use Meguiars quick detailer can buy online at http;//www.meguiars.com *also use the spray wax as it was intended- as a booster wax, to boost your waxed appearance. Use it in between waxes as well. If you stripped your wax, I would put the NXT down first, then hit it with the booster wax. I would not rely on the booster wax as my primary layer of wax.
