Lightbulb Engine bay cleanup

Hey guys, sorry if this has been asked before...

Do you guys clean the engine bay?
Or how?

So far I only clean the exterior, I havent touched the engine bay for 2 weeks now.
It still look quite clean, since I have only used it for a few days now, but I imagine it could get quite dirty with all that big intakes up front.

So should I just spray water on it (I hope not).
Or is there some special way you need to do?

What about underbody?

I know there are workshops who have lifts and spray guns to clean car underbodies, but Ive heard that high pressure spray guns are not safe.

When cleaning an engine bay you need to be very careful especially if your using a pressure washer. First step is to leave the engine running while your cleaning it with the pressure sprayer. You don't want water settling in the wrong areas. Also don't get to close where you can damage any wires or any rubber lines. The heat as well as the detergent in the soap will remove most grease or subborn stains. After giving it a thorough wash, spray your favorite plastic/ rubber shine from all angles of the engine bay. This will ensure you get all parts completely covered. Continue to let the engine run with the hood down for a good ten minutes or so. At that point you can turn the engine off. Leave the hood shut for a half hour or so before you open it up and see you shiney new engine bay. The heat from the engine along with the STP, 2001, Armor-All, etc. will coat your black plastic and rubber parts to a show car shine. Good Luck!

Thanks alot, totally unexpected, I thought the opposite, coz one look at the engine bay the amount of wires and electrical-looking components are so much Im afraid of getting water in there, let alone leave it running while spraying.

Guess Ill try it when I hit my first 1000.
