KY Curbed Rim :-(

Was teaching my daughter to drive a manual.. She got a little too close to the curb..

Its not terrible, just kinda roughed up... stock Shinka wheels...

Anything I can do to smooth them out? I thought about trying to work on it with a dremel tool, but i didnt want to make it worse. Anyone have a suggestion... besides not letting my daughter drive it again.

IMO - take it to get pro wheel restored (like 100 a wheel to grind out the damage) and then powdercoat them.

But you can always try to grind and sand it yourself.

none of that stuff works, you have to get the rims and paint the hole thing, i think everyone had scuff on the rims and body, if the car lives outside

Until I get around to full sanding and refinishing my own curbed rim (similar story btw!), I just used a bit of the silver touchup paint that came with my daughter's Mazda6. It's pretty good camouflage, and protectant.

btw: I used a Mothers mini- [drill] ball and their aluminum wheel polish on my rims this weekend and they came out really nice. I thought they were already in pretty good shape and yet it was still dramatic.
