Hey i have a greddy sp2 exhaust system on my 8 and i was wondering if there was anything out there that i could use to clean my exhaust tips to get rid of the spots that are appearing

 

Put a dab of Brasso or any stainless steel polish on some bumbaclot and rub them out.

 

I use nevr-dull from eagle one. It comes in a silver can that you can buy at walmart for like $4. Its a cloth wadding that you rip off a piece and rub on your exhaust to get off the black carbon buildup, etc. ** Word of advice ** Just watch that you don't let any of it touch your paint, it will start to eat away at it if it sits on your paint.

The easiest way to clean your tips is to take any metal polish you like and the mother's mini powerball.

I personally use Luster Lace from Luster Care. They were originally meant for bikers with those big chrome pipes they've got on their Harleys, but I found that they work extremely well for my exhaust tips.

Took me 30mins to completely polish both tips to original shine. Will post pics later of before-after.

Only trouble is, the front surface of the tips (where the hole is) is difficult to polish using a lace, so you might want to get yourself some Luster Care Pads too.

 

This is that best and you can find it anywhere!

ive used nevrdull for a little bit, then tried mothers. mothers def does a better job and gets em more shiny than nevrdull every did. i hear the english chrome polish is amazing, but until i get my hands on some, im goin with mothers

 

Nevr-dull is not a full "polish", only a remover. I then apply Nano-polish to protect it from corrosion. Yes, english chrome polish is the best.

Example of neglected GReddy tip and after shot. Man my fingers were hurting after.

 

so would you suggest a combination of nevrdull first, then a polish after?

 

I like leaving my SP2 bronze cause it matches my rims. If your stains are that hard to remove id try some#0000 steel wool.

Steel wool will leave fine scratches.

 

It looks better when it turns colors. Especially on Red.

 

Anyone have any suggestions as to how to remove a melted on plastic bag from a chrome tip? I bought an exhaust and the guy said that he'd gotten some sort of black plastic bag or something up under it and it melted onto it. He tried to remove it, and "sanded it' I guess smooth but couldnt get it off. Would Never-dull remove that? I'm thinking goo gone or some sort of solvent to remove it. It wont show once installed, but I know its there.

 

Try acetone.

 

rddragoness - whats the make of the exhaust. I would just sand it off. Get darby to do it I showed him how so he should be able to get it off and shine it back up real nice

Use a Meguiar's Metal Polish - exellent finish

 

I bought a Racing beat exhaust, and just looking for something to clean it off with. I can do it if I know what to use.

 

Use a Meguiars Metal Polish. It's cheap and very good cleaner. Give You very nice shine. After use for more protection Yoy can put some Wax

 

You need a dedicated metal polish. OTC Mothers/Meguiars/Blue Magic.

If those don't work just sand with 2000 grit or scuff with steelwool (fine) and then polish them with the metal polish.
