Carbon Fibre Repairable?

Does anyone know if there is a way to repair Carbon Fibre hood chips? I heard there is a coating we can add to cover up the chip and shop can resand and refinish the top?

you would have to sand down the clear coat and lay another coat over it, be sure not to scratch the CF.

Depending on how deep it is yes, if you hit carbon you are screwed.

Clear coat is only a thin layer on top, most of the material above the CF material is gel coat. Depending on how deep the damage is, they can fill in the crack with resin and restore it close to 100%.

I have done this before... 4 coats of clear later it was looking good, although there was 1 spot that was too deep and even though I fixed it I could see a slight discoloration where the chip was!

I just had this done to my hood. I had some spots, but what the guy did was wetsand it clear coat it, wetsand again, and clear coat again until he got it the way he liked it, and my hood looks brand new.
