Question Best/Cheapest products black car?

What are the best and cheapest products to clean a black car. I want to wash maybe clay bar and wax my car. I was wondering what wash, clay bar, wax, detailer, window cleaner, tire cleaner and whatever else I need to use would be? I am using microfiber sponge and towels as of now is that what I should be using? All input is appreciated. I have searched but never found anything specifically for black cars and I know black is a b!tch and probably needs other products then other colors need. Thanks, Phill

I have a black car and use regular products. There is no specific products for black cars only. About the only thing you can do is meticulously rinse your mitts and keep your towels clean. Beyond that black is not really THAT different from other deep colors. Other things like wheels and glass are exactly the same as others so no different methods are needed for those beyond the norm.

Best and Cheap are an oxymoron. If you want quality you have to pay a bit more. Also having all the right products and knowing exactly how to use them for your particular paint condition is vital in producing excellent results.

As lonewolf mentioned, black is simply a deeper color and thus requires more care. It's all in the prep work. We have a ton of links here to sites with info. Good luck!

Meguiers NXT.

Worked wonders on my Lexus. It's a little more than most waxes on the shelves, but it works great and smells good too.

I do everything by hand. Honestly, using a buffer scares me. One little rock in there, and there goes your paint.

I used Mother's Carnuba Cleaner Wax on my car (Black Shinka) recently and the stuff worked awesome, easy to remove, smells great also. I did two coats. For the price it's a great wax really. I also have NZXT can't tell much difference between the two. Guess it depends on your cars paint condition. My car is still kind of new and doesnt have many swirl marks yet so it looks good still. Once black gets the swirlies, it never looks as good IMO.

Just to clarify. What you want to use is a random orbiter. A buffer is only used in extreme cases and meant for pros. Thr RO is very easy to learn and you will not harm your car unless you have a completly dry pad or worse drop it in sand.

My old 1999 Acura CL. Purchased used from a one owner in Boston. Needless to say I had my work cut out for me. 12 pain staking hours later she was done.

All PoorBoys products. SSR1, SSR2.5, EX-P, and Natty's Paste Wax (blue).
Porter Cable 7424 for waxing.

Process:
1. Wash
2. Dry
3. Claybar,
4. Wash again
5. Dry again plus forced air to remove any excess water
6. Tape all moldings, plastic, etc.
7. PB SSR2.5 with cutting pad
8. Wipe off
9. PB SSR1 with light cutting pad
10. Wipe off
11. PB EX-P by hand
12. Wipe off
13. Natty's Paste Wax by hand
14. Wipe off

Thanks guys. I've had many cars in my life and have done quite a bit of detailing. It was that Acura that set me forward to learn how to do it like a pro and honestly my first job with the PC. The color of the car is called Black Flamenco Pearl. In the last shot you can see the different colored flakes in the paint.

Got that right. After countless hours with the PC for the first time my hands started cramping. I forced myself through it though.

Nice. Waxing by hand is the only way to go. We had a recent wash/wax meet this past Saturday. I worked on the yellow P5, it has over 150,000 miles. Here's a few pics.

Yea, it works well for a synthetic polymer. Nothing beats a good carnauba though.
