Advice pls - Chrome rims
Hi all! Need advice pls.
Waiting for chrome rims now. Never had chrome rims before.
Can anyone share advice on cleaning & polishing techniques/products pls? Heard that it's not advisable to use the normal wheel cleaning sprays cos it may destroy the protective layer.
Thanx! :D

Wash them with the same soap you use on the car, don't use spray cleaners they are a waste of money. Chrome is very smooth and wipes clean easily. There is usually no "protective coating" you only need that on painted wheels and some aluminum wheels, it is just a clear coat like the car has over the paint.

There is no need to polish them they are inherently full of bling. There is chrome polish that you can use every now and then, but it doesn't really polish them it mainly just gets them really clean, and therefore shiny again. You can wax them with regular car wax but it is not necessary. All I would do is keep them clean by washing with the car.

What I Do
Wash with regular car wash detergent often! Then apply Klasse AIO over them to avoid brake dust. Done this since car was new 1 year old and the rims look just as shiny as the day I got them. Wash Once a week if you can. This will help you avoid harsh chemicals needed for cleaning very dirty rims. You can also polish with chrome polish also. But the AIO seems to repel the dust. Good luck!

I Zaino'd mine, then just have to dust off to keep clean. Ocassionally I do the Z6 detail spray in between Zaino.
But by all means keep them waxed/polished as it makes it much easier to clean.

Thanx guys! MDRX8 what is Klasse AIO? Haven't heard of that before. Type of polish?
And should the rims be removed for polishing, or is it not necessary?

Yes
Klasse All-in-One is just a car polish that is acrylic based. Any wax will do, Zanio, Meguire's NXT but waxes will attact a little more dust. You do not have to take the rims off... You can use a soft brush for tight spaces........
