1st coat of Zaino on my red 8

I just put my first coat of Z2 on my red 8 and it looks great! The stuff is so easy to get off it’s crazy. I do have one question though. How much do you guys use to put a coat on? I poured a little more than 1 ounce in the bottle and I was hard pressed to get the whole car done. I know they say an 8oz bottle of Z5 can do 20 corvettes, and I’m guessing the Z5 goes on the same way the Z2 does. I mean I tried to put this stuff on thin. I’m saying to myself “this isn’t enough to work”. But it did. So I guess I’m looking for some feedback on how much everyone uses. At my rate I’ll get about 5 or 6 apps out of a bottle.

I had to get my twins in there!

Nice job on your VR8. I did mine over the weekend. I got two coats out of one ounce of z2. Maybe I used too little. It turned out great though.

I usually get 2 coats out of about half the bottle. A very thin film is better than a thicker coat. I also wet my applicator pad with the Z6 detail spray first, then apply the zaino.

Nice color

One ounce is supposed to be enough for 2 coats.

If you like ONE coat of Zaino, wait till you get 5 or more coats on it, it will be love at first sight (or would that be fifth sight? - LOL)

Like Sea Ray said. Make sure you wet the applicator with some Z6. Just a couple of squirts of the Z6 is all you need. This is extremely important when first starting.

My first coat used more than the second and third. The first coat didn't really want to spread out evenly. The second and third coats were much easier to apply thinly as the surface was much smoother/slicker.

Overall, I managed four coats with 2 oz. (three on the RX-8, one on the wifey's civic).

Be warned: it's addicting. I'm considering more layers this weekend

HeelnToe.... The more you put on the better it will get. You will get your black to look like wet glass. When you get to the 10th coat, hit it with some Z1 before the Z2.

Before putting on Z2 (or Z5) I always do Z6, then dampen the applicator with Z6, apply a coat of Z2 (or Z5), let it 'cure', wipe off, then do Z6 again.
