VIDEO: RX8 vs K24 swapped BRZ (Bilstein PSS teaser...)

This season i'm on a quest to prove that a truly budget suspension can still hold its own against fast cars and more expensive setups. I installed an off-the-shelf Bilstein B14 PSS kit (yes, fixed valving, not even the PSS9) and have done one rainy trackcross, one dry track day, and one dry autocross. the results have been hugely impressive! i can't believe how well this kit is working for having no ***** and such little cost. the spring rates may BE soft, but the kit feels anything but. i plan to do a full review soon, but in the meantime, here are two videos showing the off-the-shelf PSS kit with 200TW tires.

It's been a while, but i finally scored another fastest time of day. Plenty of Bilstein drifting goodness and HKS exhaust silencer example sounds.

I'm happy to see you running these. I added them to my future plans yesterday (before I saw this vid). Was looking for a good set up that I could live with driving down to T.O.D. and would perform well while on the Dragon, as a litmus test... What Brake set-up are you running? I am eyeing the EBC Balanced BBK (BBK001YEL-2 on BuyBrakes.com). Just got my RacingBeat Catless Mid pipe (dual Resonated) delivered and will hopefully install both the midpipe and the brakes (which are so very badly needed) in May/June.

Lots to do with this car to get it ready for some good aggressive driving...

Edit:: Never mind the brake question... watched your 2026 race prep video and saw... love the content!!

Hey man, thanks for watching the other videos too, glad they are helpful for folks. The Dragon is a fun one, but there's nothing like hillclimb events where they shut down the mountain roads and it's just you versus the hill for time! Good luck getting yours prepped. happy to answer any other questions that might pop up.

Nice! Do you plan to run at all with PA Hillclimb (PHA)? Or more the Appalacian hillclimb series?

PA for sure. I live in Rockland County NY so most of those are only a 2-4 hour drive from me. Time and Money permitted I'd love to do a southern climb... but... realistically that's a hard sell (4 younger kids). My wife is amazing and supportive but I'm not looking to find the limit to that haha.

Awesome. i put together a playlist of all my hillclimbs with PHA, rx8 versus civic si will be a little different but hopefully it helps you learn the hills in advance.

I saw your new video review on the Bilstein's, how did you get more than -3deg camber? I'm at 13.5" ride height on 17x9 with lower offset bushings and max I get is -2.8deg. Do you have the upper offset bushings too?

Your content is awesome, btw!
