I like the 285's so far but I can not compare since I have never been on the 245's.

unfortunately you have no way of knowing if also he drove 9/10ths slow too, that's why you can't read anything from the results except who happened to be faster, the why's and wherefore's aren't easily obtained ...

You BSP/SM guys with big wheels need not concern yourself, at least not until you can beat those BS cars.

So baghead, let's hear you chime in. Saw in the other thread that you went back to 245s from 285s on Sunday at El Toro... care to explain why?
We ended up ordering a set of 245s, but we'll be buying another set before Walnut Ridge. So far it looks like we'll be going with another set of 245s. Seems to work for Jason....

The 285 Kumho V710s felt a whole lot better than the 285 Hoosier A6s, but it would be kind of foolish to say they're faster/better/best given the results so far. The car was rotating much freer on the 245s for me and I managed to get in a few clean, but slow, runs
but I was also tail sliding a lot more and giving it up to avoid spinning in the same turns I had previously
there's still the issue of finding a tire shop that's equipped with four 300lb tire mounters each with 8 ft long crow bars and 200 psig air supply pressure to get them mounted on an 8" wheel ...

Feigned ignorance is difficult to display in writing. Perhaps I should have used a smiley.
Any discussion of duck butter and semi-stiff hose gets a little bit touchy...not that there's anything wrong with it.

The shop I used had to resort to Bead Seater and Tire Donut Ring to mount Kumho 245/18 V710 on 8'' rim. Not sure if it is due to the Motoforge rim or the shop itself. In any case, it was anything but a walk in the park.

These results do not solve anything!

Paul Chrt = 245 710s $257X4= 1028
Chris Harvey = 285 A6s $300x4= 1200
.014 difference in time = priceless

I could see once in a while AS whooping on BS with the right course. I can not think of any type of course where DS would beat BS if the drivers are equal. Weather would be the only reason for DS to strait time BS.
