STU legal? gutted catalytic

i was reading the rules and i think your required to run a catalytic converter in STU, but what if it was dead and gutted? not that it would make any real HP difference.

You are kidding right? Do you think there would be a rule about having to have a cat if you could use a gutted one... A gutted or non working cat would be the same as no cat. Does it say you can remove your cat? No.

You have to be emissions legal, this means all emissions equipment working properly, no CELs, no emissions defeats/cheats ...

you see i bottomed on something and my cat suffered the worst. when i tap on it i can hear the core rattling. im pretty sure warranty isnt going to cover it due road hazard damage. so my option is to either pay for a cat or aftermarket cat. i was hoping that it could just pass a visual injspection.

You can run BSP or SM with no cat.

but yeah, you could get the RP SuperCat since its emmissions legal (eventhough we dont have emssion laws), but yeah... you won't throw a CEL with it.

With all the wacky weather, you would think people would try to do their part to save the environment....

If you cant go fast with a cat, you are most likely not going to be faster without one.

i already know that no matter what i do to the car. it will always be faster than i am. the best mod to make my car faster is to get a better driver. i just got some freebie r compunds so im probably bounce from class to class. sometimes i forget people can get to competitive and forget its all about fun. i wish there was no classes and just let people run their cars the way they like to

You are also violating federal laws and you are harming the environment. It's like smoking. Smoke all you want, just don't be spreading your crap around or throwing butts all over the place. Have you ever driven behind a car that has no cats on the highway? It stinks like crap.

yeah i'll keep that in mind. to be honest with you, to save our enviroment we have to stop all combustion process now and continue to do so four the next 100 years or so. i would prefer to run a cat. im just a a situation where my current cat is broken, so if you really care about the enviroment and in the spirit of good will you can buy me a new cat.

hawaii has the lowest emmisions out of any state. We just blow all our pollution over to china.

i have no cat on my car, but i never drive it. i ride the bus - it rules. so in the end i think i'm coming out even. plus, having a cat on a turbo'd car will make a significant difference in power.

Will you buy me a new car if I drive like an idiot and crash it?

It's your call. If you want to smell like oil and gas, go for it. Also if you get an ******* cop like me, I will check underneath it for one if the car smells so bad that it makes me cry.
