Spring Rates
I am curious what you guys are using for spring rates on the track.... I am trying to keep a semi comfortable (not that important) daily driving but not sacrafice performance. I am looking for what you guys are running not what I could run. Thanks

for street tire (140+ treadwear) performance I'd recommend not exceeding 450 lb/in front and 250 - 275 lb/in rear
higher rates will run reasonably smooth on the street if the shock valving is not set very aggressive, but will overwhelm regular street tires when pushed hard |
In a later thread, AlexCisneros opened up his compilation to revisions/input from other members. Those revised spring rates are listed below:

I had posted these in another thread and thought it may be useful to everyone. In this manner I can edit when new information is made available and keep it up front.

This post has lots of good info on Spring Rates (stock & aftermarket). Could be very useful when deciding what to purchase:
Link to thread: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-wheels-tires-brakes-suspension-55/stock-spring-rates-32731/ Some of those have since proven to not be valid, I don't think you have any direct experience on this topic so as always consider the source ... |

I've updated post #3 with a later post with revised spring rates based on input provided by other RX8club members. I don't know the validity of these spring rates, but if any numbers are off, hopefully, the correct spring rates can be posted so that this info can be useful to others in the future.

No sways yet. Maybe next year. ;) Driver is the most important mod. Still working on that one. |
the only thing I would recommend other than a true motorsport coilover setup is the KW Variant3 coilover kit
455# front 280# rear https://www.rx8club.com/group-buy-center-85/gb-kw-variant-3-coilover-suspension-110818/ IMO all that other stuff is a pig's ears blinged up to look like a neon purse :icon_no2: |
