San Diego National Tour

Anyone planning on running an 8 in the SD tour? I know that ULLLOSE can't make it, and I see that John V and clyde are signed up to run a CTS-V.

I likely won't be transporting my car to San Diego, which means I'll be looking to codrive someone else's car, which in turn means I could be running an RX-8...

Our plans have us out of town but for the right price I could leave a fast RX8 for someone to race. Just kidding.

Free weeks vacation in FLA or get beat in SD.... Easy choice.
Yes I will have to wait a week and take my beating at the Pro.

Hmmm, I'm going. If you want to leave teh keys/car, I'd be more than happy to give it some exercise, let it out, pee on some other cars...

I will be out there. Just booked it as a matter of fact, most likely in STU.

STU huh? B-stock is looking pretty thin so far. It's nice to win and all, but not when I'm the only one there... plus we need at least 3 people in class to get contingency money.

I would consider coming out there to see family and warm up tires for somebody. If anyone has a ride they would be willing to share, feel free to PM me.

I wouldn't put much stock in anything those guys do... they don't seem to know WTF they're doing.

I'm a total noob to national stuff, and I just got my Mazda Motorsports decals in. How do you guys apply these (and all the required scca stuff) to the car so they come off easy and without leaving gunk behind? Magnetic backing?

The stickers come off easy when you take them off quickly (apply friday, remove sunday, no problem). If the car is clean with good wax, zaino or similar, the difficult part will be getting the decals to stick ot the car more than the transfer paper. Once they're on the car, they'll stay as long you want and come off without any problems. The stuff for the sides and the SCCA wire wheel one I have on magnets.

My co-drive in STU fell through it looks like. He dept got laid off and he's calling off the tour.

Now I'm just looking for a co-drive in any class. (BS would be cool!) Amyone?

Don't know him, but it sounds like he's the guy that built Arizona Motorsports Park? Maybe Jason knows him?

Yes that is the man. I wont speak for Dan but I will say I have known him for 10 years and in that time have only seen two codrivers.

What you guys should do is call up Goodwin Racing and see if he wants to know how fast his STU RX8 is..... It might help his sales to have a couple of fast guys run it at a tour.

People with extensive resources don't need to be bothered with codrivers, particularly complete strangers

So you're saying you were bothered when you had a co-driver last year?

Who's bothering? It gives another shot at the car winning.
