My nemesis in B-stock in my region is a 350z. Last sunday he beat me by 0.6 seconds. He's a very experienced driver on the Hoosier RS304's (not the AS) and I'm on Dunlop SSR 225's (yes I know they suck). I ran faster times than him until his last two runs, so I'm pretty sure that a better driver than myself could have beat him.
Also, there was a G35 and another RX-8 there, both on street tires, and the RX-8 beat the G35 by about 0.4 sec. Of course, autox is much more about driver skill, especially at the regional level, so none of this really means much.
My take is that the rx-8 is better for every type of racing except drag racing. Even on what would be considered 'horsepower' tracks, I think the 8 will come out ahead of the 350, stock vs. stock.

absolutely no difference at interstate speeds, dead even except around some serious bends on the PA turnpike at some higher speeds . The RX-8 always pulls ahead here. I get the impression that the 350Z is too scary in this scenario.

hi guys,
i own a manual RX-8 here in Australia and have had one race with a 350Z. He got the initial jump on me as we both stamped on the gas at about 40mph and i stayed at his door until we both eased off at 221km/hr, whatever that is in MPH, i think 138mph. My car standard, his car with some sort of exhaust. This of course, was done on a closed road, under race conditions etc etc etc.....cheers

I was beating once in a medium speed autocross by a 350Z. He was BSP though and I am bone stock on street tires. I think he was on street tires too but I'm not sure. He beat me by one second.
I've beaten badly all the other 350zs that I've seen at autocrosses but I think their drivers sucks. Actually, I've ever beaten a 350z in my BMW 325 Ci convertible (pig weighs 3700 lbs) and I was on all-season tires.
